California Pit Bull Puppy Revived with Narcan After Overdosing on Fentanyl
A heartwarming and miraculous incident unfolded in California when a pit bull puppy was saved from a fentanyl overdose. The brave pup stumbled upon its owners’ hidden stash of fentanyl outside a Walmart, leading to a dangerous situation.
“Their puppy inside the car was exposed to fentanyl and began to show signs of an overdose,” the release read.
Thankfully, the Irvine Police Department swiftly intervened to rescue the innocent puppy. Officers administered a dose of Narcan, a life-saving medication, which immediately sparked a remarkable recovery. Recognizing the urgency, an IPD officer rushed the pup to an emergency veterinarian for further treatment.
The heroic efforts of the police didn’t stop there. The couple responsible for the fentanyl stash was promptly arrested, ensuring justice for the innocent animal. The puppy is now under the care of the IPD’s animal service unit, where it is steadily recovering.
“Caleb Aaron Gibson, 29, of San Juan Capistrano, and Katherine Marylou Menke, 27, of Santa Ana, were arrested,” police said. ”We have asked the DA to charge the pair with felony animal cruelty and possession of narcotics. We thank the officers for their swift actions.”
