Man Arrested for Fatal Stabbing on Metro B Red Line Train

LOS⁣ ANGELES—In a shocking incident,⁣ a man ⁢suspected of fatally stabbing a 23-year-old passenger without any provocation aboard a Metro ⁢B Red Line train in downtown Los Angeles has been apprehended. Randy Lamale Nash, 31, was arrested on September 9 near the 1000 block of ‌West 85th⁣ Street in South Los Angeles. He ​is currently being⁤ held on $2⁣ million bail, facing charges of murder.

The horrifying incident took place on September 7 around 5:20 p.m. According to ‌the Los Angeles Police ‍Department, the suspect approached the victim, Jesse Rodriguez, and suddenly pulled out a knife, stabbing him in the ‌chest without any warning or reason.

The victim ‌received ⁤immediate assistance from Transit Services Division officers⁢ at the Pershing Square Station until paramedics ⁣arrived. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, as confirmed by‌ Officer Tony Im.

After fleeing the scene, the suspect’s ​face was captured on surveillance video from the station. In an effort to apprehend him, the police released a photo ⁢of Mr. Nash on September 8, hoping for tips ⁣from the public. It remains⁣ unclear whether‍ these tips directly led to his arrest.
