DeSantis questions White House leadership and mentions Kamala waiting in the wings.
Gov. Ron DeSantis Questions Who is Truly Running the White House
During a recent appearance on Fox News, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) expressed his concerns about the current administration and raised questions about who is really in charge. DeSantis criticized the administration’s policies, describing them as “very left-wing,” and began by highlighting President Biden’s recent gaffe during a visit to Vietnam.
“I mean, this is a guy that’s stumbling around the world stage; he’s projecting weakness,” DeSantis said. “I think our enemies have already taken advantage of that. … It’s likely to invite even more problems around the world and so, you know, it’s sad, but I think it’s obvious that he’s been struggling for quite some time.”
DeSantis also expressed his belief that the media is trying to protect President Biden and speculated about Vice President Kamala Harris’ role in the administration.
“The corporate press is going to do whatever they can to run interference for him. And I also look and think about who’s waiting in the wings with Kamala, and I think you’re right in terms of the aptitude,” he told host Laura Ingraham. “Even though she’s a lot younger, I think she’s basically been his impeachment insurance because people know no matter how bad Biden is, nobody wants Harris. … That’s just the reality, and that’s a sad situation America finds ourselves in.”
When asked by Ingraham who he believes is truly running the Biden administration behind the scenes, DeSantis pointed to left-wing aides and staffers in the White House.
“I think you have a lot of very left-wing aides and staffers in the White House,” DeSantis responded. ”And I think you have a line to people like Valerie Jarrett, Obama; I think they’re all involved behind the scenes pushing him in a very left-wing direction. I mean, his presidency has been more left-wing than Obama’s was, even, and he presented himself as being a more moderate candidate when he ran in 2020. And I think that’s a result of these folks really pushing the envelope.”
DeSantis also voiced his opposition to a new civil rights investigation launched by the administration against Florida regarding his education reforms.
