Threats of ⁤Violence

Romney ⁤reportedly texted McConnell, sharing that he had received a warning from Sen. Angus King (I-ME) regarding ‌disturbing social media activity related to planned protests on January 6th. The message conveyed alarming calls to burn‌ down McConnell’s home, smuggle guns into DC, and⁢ storm the Capitol.

Romney⁢ expressed ‍his hope that adequate security measures were in place but expressed concern that the instigator of the potential violence, President Donald Trump, had the power to ⁣command reinforcements for the DC and Capitol police.
