Biden Worries He Might Be Dead Before Hunter’s Legal Troubles End: Report
President Joe Biden worries he might be dead before his son Hunter’s legal problems are resolved, NBC News reported.
An article from the outlet cites sources close to the Biden family who say the first son’s ongoing legal battles are taking a toll on the 80-year-old president. Biden has “lamented aloud that he might be dead before his son’s case would be resolved,” NBC News reported.
Hunter Biden was indicted last week on federal gun charges. He is accused of lying on a federal questionnaire about his drug use when he purchased a gun in 2018.
Biden’s anxiety about his son’s legal troubles has kept aides from bringing up the topic around him, NBC News reported:
The president and first lady are even more reluctant to hear about any of the political implications from close aides and are resigned to the fact that Hunter’s legal problems will likely worsen in the months ahead, this person said.
So sensitive are White House aides about the matter that “everybody walks around on eggshells in the West Wing” and are loath to raise the topic, another source familiar with the matter said.
The report comes as Hunter Biden is suing the Internal Revenue Service after two whistleblowers came forward this summer saying the Department of Justice obstructed the agency’s probe into the first son.
Hunter Biden claims the IRS failed to protect his confidential information. The first son is demanding attorneys’ fees, $1,000 per unauthorized disclosure, and all relevant documents.
