RFK Jr.’s team urges Biden admin for Secret Service protection.
The Trump administration provided Secret Service protection for Joe Biden during his run for the presidency, but President Biden has yet to authorize the same security for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Gavin de Becker, a renowned security expert, pointed out this discrepancy in a video released on X on Sept. 21. De Becker’s company, Gavin de Becker and Associates, is currently providing private security services for Kennedy as he challenges President Biden for the 2024 Democrat presidential nomination.
De Becker emphasized his credentials, highlighting his experience as a three-time presidential appointee and his expertise in security for elected officials and public figures.

De Becker also mentioned an alarming incident where an armed man posing as a federal law enforcement officer attempted to approach Kennedy during a speech in Los Angeles. The man was arrested, and additional weapons were found in his possession.

According to de Becker, Secret Service protection is typically provided to all major-party presidential nominees once they secure their party’s nomination. However, Kennedy has not received this level of security despite his status as a contender for the Democratic nomination in 2024.
De Becker questioned the motivation behind the lack of security for Kennedy and suggested that politics may be influencing the decision. He pointed out that Kennedy has received threats and faced physical altercations during his campaign, yet he remains without the protection afforded to other prominent political figures.
De Becker urged President Biden to rectify this situation and provide the same level of security for Kennedy as he did for Biden himself during the 2020 election. He emphasized the importance of equal protection for all candidates and stressed the need to prioritize the safety of elected officials and political figures.
Furthermore, de Becker highlighted his company’s experience and expertise in providing security for high-profile individuals. With their extensive knowledge and resources, Gavin de Becker and Associates are well-equipped to ensure Kennedy’s safety, should he be granted Secret Service protection.
The lack of Secret Service protection for Kennedy raises concerns about the fairness and impartiality of the security provided to presidential candidates. It is critical that all candidates receive equal treatment and protection, regardless of their political affiliations or personal beliefs.
The discrepancy in security measures also raises questions about the potential risks faced by Kennedy as he continues his campaign. Without the necessary security measures in place, he may be vulnerable to threats and attacks that could endanger his safety and the integrity of the democratic process.
In light of these concerns, it is essential for President Biden to review the current security arrangements and address the discrepancy in Secret Service protection for Kennedy. This will not only ensure the safety of a prominent political figure but also uphold fairness and equality in the electoral process.
As the 2024 presidential election approaches, it is crucial that security measures are implemented to safeguard all candidates and maintain the integrity of the democratic process. Providing Secret Service protection for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. would be a significant step towards achieving these goals and ensuring a level playing field for all candidates.
Ultimately, the security of presidential candidates should not be influenced by political considerations. It is the responsibility of the government to prioritize the safety of all individuals engaged in the electoral process and provide the necessary security measures to mitigate potential risks. President Biden has the opportunity to demonstrate his commitment to fairness and equality by authorizing Secret Service protection for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and setting a precedent for future presidential campaigns.
