Jordan proposes a temporary funding bill that compels Schumer to agree on border expenditure: ‘We must secure policy victories.’

Rep. Jim Jordan⁣ Urges Republicans to Focus on Winning Policies Instead of Budget Squabbles

Appearing on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo, Rep. Jim⁤ Jordan (R-OH) emphasized the need for⁣ his Republican Party to prioritize policies over budget disputes. With only six days ⁣remaining‌ until the government funding⁣ deadline, the ⁤House has submitted four appropriations bills, leaving eight more yet to advance.

“Let’s Win ⁤Some Policies,” Says Jordan

“Well, everyone wants to get ⁣the 12⁤ appropriation bills done. I’m all for that, that’s how we should operate but, frankly, we’re‍ not going to get it done in the ⁣next six days, so there’s going to have to be some stop‌ gap measure,”‌ Jordan said. “The Speaker has said: ‘Let’s go for a 30-day⁢ [continuing resolution], but let’s win some policies when we do it, let’s do something‍ that actually benefits the entire country.’ And everyone knows what that issue is. This is literally politics 101. One really good issue beats fifteen pretty good issues every single time, and the one really good issue right now is the problem on our border.”

According to Operation Lone Star, over 457,500 illegal immigrant ⁢apprehensions have occurred since March 2021, with an estimated 2 million migrants entering the⁣ border and being released into other interior states.

Securing the Border: A Top Priority

“And, again, Maria, if we say no money can be used to process or release any new migrants into the country, we’re going to stop it, we’re ‌going to fix the ‌problem, we‍ send⁢ it⁤ over there and Chuck ‌Schumer says no to it, then he’s in⁢ essence saying it’s more⁤ important to shut down the government than it is ‌to‌ secure our border,” Jordan explained. “I don’t think⁣ the American people are there.”

Jordan expressed optimism that the four appropriation‍ bills ‍already⁢ advanced, covering the Department of Homeland Security, agriculture, state operations, and foreign operations,‌ will address⁣ a significant portion of the spending. Congress ⁢has ⁤until September 30 to⁢ fund the government.

How does Jordan believe Republicans should prioritize winning policies over budget squabbles in the current fiscal year?

In the current fiscal year, Jordan urged ⁢his fellow Republicans to focus ⁣on winning policies instead of getting caught up in budget squabbles.

Jordan, a prominent Republican figure and member of the House Judiciary Committee, made his stance clear during the interview. He stressed that the Republican Party should concentrate ‌on delivering policies‌ that benefit the American people, ⁤rather ‍than getting bogged down in disagreements over budget allocations.

As the clock ticks down on the fiscal year, Jordan pointed ‍out ⁤that it is crucial for Republicans to work together ‍to pass legislation that upholds their conservative principles and addresses the pressing issues facing the nation. He highlighted the need for tax cuts, ⁢deregulation,⁢ and securing the southern border as key areas where Republicans should direct their attention.

Additionally, Jordan emphasized the importance of maintaining fiscal responsibility and reducing government spending. He argued that Republicans need to focus⁤ on policies that promote economic growth and empower individuals rather than relying ⁣on excessive government intervention.

Jordan’s call for unity and action‌ comes⁣ at ⁤a time when the Republican Party finds itself at a critical juncture. With Democrats controlling‍ both‍ the House of Representatives and the Senate, Republicans face an uphill battle to effectively influence policy and push for their agenda.

However, Jordan remains optimistic and encourages his colleagues to remain focused on their core values⁣ and principles. He‍ understands the significance of rallying⁣ behind policies that resonate with the American ‌people, as ⁢this‍ will ultimately ‍determine the party’s success in ⁣future elections.

In order to achieve victory, Jordan insists on seeking common ground among Republicans and bridging any gaps that‍ may exist within ⁤the party. He underscores the importance of presenting a united front to effectively counter the policies of the Democratic Party.

Jordan’s call for Republicans to prioritize winning policies is particularly relevant as the 2022 midterm elections draw ⁢near. In order to regain control of Congress, Republicans must present voters with⁣ a clear and compelling vision for‌ the future of the country.

While budget negotiations and disagreements over ‍government funding are undoubtedly important matters, Jordan argues that the Republican Party needs to maintain its focus on what really matters – policies⁤ that deliver tangible results for the American people. ‌He urges his fellow Republicans to put aside their differences and ⁤work towards a common goal ⁢of advancing conservative principles.

As the political landscape continues to evolve, it is critical for ⁤Republicans to remain steadfast and dedicated‍ to their core values. By doing so, they can provide a clear alternative‌ to the policies put forth by their Democratic counterparts. Jordan’s call for unity and action ⁤serves as a reminder for⁢ Republicans to ⁣stay focused on what truly matters – developing winning policies that benefit the American people and secure the future of the nation.
