The speculation arises following ⁢Feinstein’s demise at her ‍Washington, D.C., residence on Friday. She was 90 years old.

According‍ to Daily Mail, there was a surge of⁣ interest among influential California ⁤Democratic donors⁣ and politicians‍ upon learning about Markle’s alleged interest in the vacant seat.

After returning to her hometown ⁣of Los Angeles with her husband, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, in 2020, the Duchess has been actively advocating for various ‌causes, including pushing for paid leave for parents and supporting⁤ gun safety organizations like Moms Demand Action.

California Governor Gavin Newsom holds the responsibility of selecting Feinstein’s replacement for the remaining 13 months of her term.

A prominent California donor, who is said to be close to Newsom, revealed that⁣ the possibility of the Duchess being chosen ⁣has not been ruled out.

“Meghan is definitely a long-shot, but in ⁤the ‍craziness that is U.S. politics these days, it’s not an impossibility. Crazier things have happened,” the anonymous source said.

This is not‍ the first time Governor Newsom has had to fill a vacant Senate seat. He did so in 2020, following Kamala Harris’ election⁣ as Vice President.

During that time, the Daily Mail reported that Markle⁤ had ‌expressed interest in Harris’ open seat⁤ and had begun networking within progressive circles.

Reports suggest that Markle’s ultimate goal‍ is to run for president.

What⁤ social and political issues has Meghan Markle been vocal about since leaving the royal family?

Is considering a career‍ in politics and that Newsom was open to the idea of appointing her ⁤to the‍ Senate. However, it ultimately went ⁣to Alex Padilla, who was later elected to the position in a special election.

Markle, ‌a former‌ actress, gained‌ worldwide fame when she married Prince Harry ‍in 2018. Their departure from royal duties in early⁢ 2020 and subsequent move‍ to the United States ⁣garnered ⁣significant ⁢media attention.

Since then, Markle has been⁣ using her ‌platform to speak out on⁣ social and political issues.⁢ She ⁢has been vocal about racial inequality, women’s rights, and mental health, ‌drawing both praise and criticism.

If‌ Markle‍ decides to⁢ run for Senate, she would join ⁣a growing list of celebrities ⁢who have ‌entered the realm of politics. ⁤From Ronald Reagan ⁢to Arnold Schwarzenegger to Donald Trump, celebrities have found success in using their fame as a launching⁢ pad for political careers.

Of‌ course, ‍running for ⁢Senate is no easy task, and Markle would face challenges and scrutiny along the way. Her lack of political⁤ experience and controversial public ‌image could work against her.⁤ However, her ⁣star power and ability to connect with people could also be assets in⁢ a political ‌race.

Ultimately, the decision ‌lies with Markle herself.⁢ She ‍would need ‌to‍ carefully consider the implications of entering politics ‍and whether she is ⁤willing to endure the intense scrutiny and criticism‍ that come with it.

If she does ‍decide to run, it would undoubtedly be a high-profile race ⁢that would ⁢capture the attention of the nation. Whether ‌or not she succeeds ‌in‍ her bid for the⁤ Senate, her potential candidacy is a‌ testament to ⁤the changing landscape ⁢of politics and the influence of celebrities in the public ⁢sphere.

Only time will tell if Meghan Markle chooses to make the leap from the Duchess of Sussex to Senator Markle. Regardless of the outcome, her potential entry into politics is sure to ⁢spark further‌ discussion and debate about the role‌ of celebrities ⁢in the political arena.
