A 46-year-old man is behind bars in Saratoga County jail after being arrested in connection with the kidnapping of 9-year-old Charlotte Sena. The arrest took place on Monday, and the suspect, Craig Ross, was charged with first-degree kidnapping.
According to the Albany Times-Union, Ross was arraigned in Milton Town Court early Tuesday and is currently being held without bail. Governor Kathy Hochul stated that the suspect drove up to the mailbox at 4:20 a.m. assuming the family was not home. In a critical mistake, he left his own fingerprint on the ransom note.
Law enforcement began examining the note for fingerprints and found a match to Ross, who had previously been arrested for a driving under the influence charge in Saratoga County in 1999.
