State police in Indiana​ County⁢ responded ​to a⁢ call at 12:35 a.m. Sunday to ​a shooting at the Chevy Chase Community⁤ Center in White Township.

According to⁤ police, nine people between the ages of 18⁢ and ⁣23 were ⁣shot, ‍including a 22-year old⁣ Pittsburgh man who‌ was pronounced​ dead at the scene.

The wounded victims were taken to three separate hospitals in the ​area. Some of‍ the⁣ victims were treated for their ⁢wounds ⁤and released, according ‍to ‍police.

Additionally,‌ authorities have not stated what led to the shooting ‌or who was behind the shooting, or if there were ⁣multiple shooters.

The shooting‍ took place ⁢a ‌couple miles away from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, which was hosting its homecoming weekend.

Campus activities were going on as scheduled “with enhanced⁤ police‌ presence,”⁤ the university told staff ⁢in an email, the Tribune-Review reported.

Neighbor‍ Robert ⁣Miller claimed he and his wife⁢ heard loud⁢ music coming ‍from the community center⁢ area as they were about to go‍ to sleep.

“Then all of a sudden, I heard about 20 gunshots,” Miller told the Tribune-Review. “There was people lying on the edge of the sidewalk out there. It’s terrifying.”

His wife, Ellen Ober, said, “There‍ were people everywhere crying and screaming.”

The Chevy Chase Community Center executive director Brandi Ports⁤ said⁣ on‍ their Facebook page that officials⁤ are “praying⁤ for everyone involved” and that⁤ the⁢ center​ would ‍be closed indefinitely.

“Please be in⁢ prayer ⁤for those involved, for our community,⁣ and for our​ staff and volunteers,” she said.

The reward for information leading to ⁤arrests and prosecutions in ‌the case is up to $15,000.
