“We were getting a ton of requests from Americans who were stranded, who had tried to reach out to the State Department, and were getting nowhere,” Mills told The Ingraham Angle. Flights were canceled, and hotels were fully booked, leaving these individuals feeling abandoned. “I just kind of made the decision, you know, that I needed to step up and do something.”
Mills, an Army veteran, emphasized the difference between statesmen and politicians, stating that actions speak louder than words.
A bipartisan group of over 140 members of the House of Representatives has also urged the State Department to use all available methods, including chartering flights, to rescue stranded American citizens in Israel.
Mills explained that many people were unsure of where to seek help or lacked the means to reach recommended assistance sites. This is not the first time he has undertaken such a rescue mission. Previously, he organized a successful overland rescue from Afghanistan after the Biden administration withdrew troops in 2021.
“Unfortunately, this isn’t my first time doing this because my team and I had conducted the first successful overland rescue out of Afghanistan that rescued a mother and three children from Amarillo, Texas,” he said. Mills and his team meticulously plan the routes in advance to ensure safety and identify the best evacuation areas. They primarily rely on ground evacuations and transit through neighboring countries like Jordan to bring Americans back home.
When asked about the number of Americans in Israel who require assistance, Mills expressed concern, stating that there is a high possibility of a significant number of stranded Americans across the country.
Mills squarely places the blame on the Biden administration, highlighting their release of $6 billion, which can be easily used to fund terrorism. He criticizes the administration’s weakness, which invites aggression from countries like Iran, China, Russia, and North Korea.
According to Mills, President Joe Biden prioritizes “wokeness” over the safety and freedom of Americans. As an elected official, Mills is determined to take action and fulfill the responsibilities that he believes the Biden administration has neglected.
On the diplomatic front, national security adviser Jake Sullivan revealed that President Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have discussed deploying American expertise to aid in hostage recovery efforts. It is estimated that there are approximately 100-150 hostages held by terrorist groups in Gaza, with “20 or more” Americans among them.
Sullivan, however, dismissed the idea of deploying American troops to fight in Israel’s declared war.
