Evil thrives on people’s ignorance.
Understanding Our Enemies: A Naive Western Perspective
Let’s delve into the origins of this complex situation.
The West’s lack of understanding of our enemies has allowed them to exploit us.
In 2004, President George W. Bush made a remarkably naive statement during a United Nations address: “When it comes to the desire for liberty and justice, there is no clash of civilizations. People everywhere are capable of freedom and worthy of freedom. The desire for freedom resides in every human heart.”
This statement was not only foolish then, but it remains foolish now. People have diverse priorities, and for many, Western notions of freedom are not their main concern. Instead, they prioritize adherence to a fundamentalist interpretation of Koranic law.

The Western belief that everyone desires freedom has led us down two equally foolish paths.
The first path, witnessed over the past 25 years, was nation-building.
This was evident in Afghanistan and Iraq, where the West deluded itself into thinking that tribal societies with different priorities truly, truly desired iPhones and sexual liberation. Instead of pursuing a realistic foreign policy to protect America’s interests, we embarked on a utopian mission of our own creation, which ultimately failed.
Unfortunately, we continue to follow this path today. We still act as if it is Israel’s responsibility to develop Gaza’s infrastructure and provide water and power, even as Hamas ruthlessly murders innocent babies and endangers its own civilians. This approach is absurd and destined to fail.
The second path is one of willful ignorance: the belief that if we all share the same priorities, we can negotiate with anyone and everyone. We assume that everyone is reasonable and wants the same things, even when circumstances spiral out of control.
Even if rockets from Gaza rain down on Tel Aviv a few weeks each year, we dismiss it as the frustration of reasonable people with reasonable priorities. We label it a mere “cycle of violence.”
This path leads to failure, mass death, and a false sense of security for the West, including Israel.
Senior Hamas official Ali Baraka openly revealed the lie that many Americans fell for during an interview on Russian television.
He admitted that Hamas had deceived the world by pretending to focus on governing Gaza and abandoning resistance, while secretly preparing for a major attack. They never cared about the 2.5 million Palestinians in Gaza; it was all a game to manipulate our beliefs. So when Israel strikes at Hamas targets and unintentionally harms civilians deliberately placed in harm’s way by Hamas, they shift the blame to Israel. After all, what kind of human beings wouldn’t care if their own babies were killed?
Israel, however, had become complacent. While Hamas occasionally launched rockets to maintain their terrorist image, their true aspiration was to be a normal governing power.
Every dollar that flowed into Gaza over the past two decades was used by Hamas to further their goal of murdering Jews. They prioritize death over their own people’s well-being.
They assume that you, the Western audience, are naive and won’t believe their true intentions. They say it directly to your face, yet you still refuse to accept it. They think you are incredibly foolish.
The West is so foolish that we believe this conflict can be resolved through negotiation.
You may find their statements mind-boggling, but you will readily believe that the Jews are the villains. That’s exactly what they want – for you to blame the Jews, even after they are slaughtered in their beds.
After 9/11, none of these conversations were taking place. But when terrorists infiltrate Israel’s borders and murder 1,300 Jews – equivalent to roughly 47,000 Americans – people shift the blame to Israel, urging them to be more cautious.
Soon, many will express sympathy for the 1,300 dead Jews, the parents of burned babies, the husbands of raped wives, and the kidnapped victims. But when Israel takes necessary action to protect its citizens from Hamas, the narrative will change entirely.

How is Hamas using innocent lives as a shield in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict?
, it is not because Israel is the aggressor, but because Hamas is using innocent lives as a shield.
Our naive perspective of the enemy not only allows them to exploit us, but it also costs innocent lives. We cannot afford to be blind to the realities of the world. It is time to prioritize our own interests and protect ourselves from those who seek to harm us.
Understanding our enemies means acknowledging their priorities, their ideologies, and their strategies. It means recognizing that not everyone desires the same freedoms that we hold dear. It means understanding that negotiating with those who have no intention of compromising is a futile endeavor.
We must learn from history and approach international relations with a realistic mindset. We cannot continue to deceive ourselves into thinking that everyone can be reasoned with or that everyone wants what is best for humanity.
In order to protect ourselves and our interests, we must abandon naive perspectives and embrace a more nuanced understanding of our enemies. It is through this understanding that we can develop effective strategies and policies to counter their threats.
Let us learn from our past mistakes and ensure that we do not repeat them. Our future and the lives of innocent people depend on it.
