Ben Shapiro criticizes Tucker Carlson for downplaying Israel attacks.
The War in Israel: A Divide Amongst Allies
The ongoing war in Israel has not only disrupted peace talks and widened the gap between Middle-Eastern nations, but it has also driven a wedge between individuals across the globe, including conservative Americans.
One example of this divide can be seen in the recent clash between Ben Shapiro and Tucker Carlson.
Normally, Shapiro and Carlson would be considered friends and allies. Shapiro’s show is featured on the Daily Wire, a news service co-founded by Carlson. However, since the brutal attack on Israel, Shapiro, an Orthodox Jew, has had little patience for those who have called for restraint in Israel’s retaliation.
Shapiro took aim at Carlson after his interview with Vivek Ramaswamy, where Carlson compared America’s drug crisis to what happened in Israel. Shapiro played a clip of the interview, pointing out that the video playing alongside Carlson showed Hamas kidnapping a woman.
“He’s showing video of their rape, as he’s talking about it,” Shapiro exclaimed. “To go this far afield to link these issues — the only reason you’re doing this is you wish to downplay the atrocity that just happened in Israel.”
Shapiro continued to criticize Carlson, stating that the deaths of drug addicts from imported illegal substances are not the same as the terrorist acts committed by Hamas. He expressed his frustration with Carlson’s perspective and accused him of playing a “dumb game.”
Shapiro took to social media to further express his disdain for those condemning Israel’s retaliation, highlighting the biased media coverage of the conflict.
This divide amongst conservative allies has not gone unnoticed, with one commentator remarking that it is a clear sign of the current state of Republicanism.

The clash between Shapiro and Carlson is just one example of the division that has emerged within conservative circles regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. While both individuals share conservative ideologies, their differing perspectives on the situation have caused a rift in their previously amicable relationship.
This divide is reflective of the larger divide among conservative Americans on the issue. Many conservatives have a strong pro-Israel stance, viewing Israel as an important ally in the Middle East and supporting its right to defend itself against terrorist attacks. On the other hand, there are some conservatives who argue for a more measured approach, advocating for diplomatic solutions and expressing concerns about civilian casualties.
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has long been a complicated and contentious issue, with deep-rooted historical, religious, and political complexities. It is no surprise that this complex conflict has led to divisions among allies, even within the conservative movement.
However, it is important to remember that differing opinions and debates are a healthy part of any democracy. While it may be disheartening to witness a divide among allies, it is a testament to the diversity of perspectives within the conservative movement and the willingness to question and challenge ideas.
Ultimately, it is crucial for conservatives to engage in respectful and constructive dialogue, seeking to understand different viewpoints and find common ground. Only through open and honest discussions can we hope to bridge the gaps and work towards peaceful resolutions in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The war in Israel has not only deepened divisions among Middle-Eastern nations but has also revealed a divide amongst allies across the globe, including within the conservative movement. It is now more important than ever for all sides to come together, to listen, to learn, and to seek common ground. Only through unity and understanding can we hope to find a lasting and peaceful resolution to this longstanding conflict.
