A sophomore at the University of Washington decided to have some fun at the expense of former NFL punter turned sports analyst, Pat McAfee.
Recently, McAfee has been hosting a segment during ESPN’s “College GameDay,” where one lucky fan is chosen to attempt a 33-yard field goal for a chance to win money from McAfee himself.
During the show in Seattle, student Greyson Wilhelm was selected as the chosen fan. McAfee was surprised to see that the potential prize money had increased to $60,000 and introduced Wilhelm, mentioning that he had shown up the day before with a sign mocking McAfee’s former profession: “Kicking is easy.”

McAfee jokingly asked Wilhelm if he had ever thought something negative about a kicker, to which Wilhelm responded by saying he tried to offend every kicker with his sign. Wilhelm admitted he had never played football but had experience in soccer.
Before Wilhelm attempted the kick, McAfee, a former Colts player, commended his confidence and expressed his admiration for Wilhelm’s boldness.
Wilhelm lined up for the kick, held by “GameDay” co-host Kirk Herbstreit, but unfortunately missed by a narrow margin.

After some banter and jokes about the ball being deflated, Wilhelm prepared for his second attempt.
“I’m feeling this. Pat, you’re about to lose 30,” Herbstreit said.
With the crowd going wild, Wilhelm successfully kicked the field goal.
Wilhelm was then presented with an oversized check signed by McAfee, with the original amount crossed out and changed to $30,000.
