Evangelical Christian groups give $1M+ to Israel’s hospitals, first responders.

Some of Israel’s closest supporters in the west, specifically evangelical Christians, are stepping forward to help the Jewish State as it mourns and responds to the attacks carried out by Hamas terrorists.
Christians United for Israel (CUFI) and Concerned Women for America (CWA), two faith-based activist organizations, have consistently highlighted the need to adopt a pro-Israel stance in both geopolitical and cultural contexts. They are now taking action after the horrific strikes on October 7th.
CUFI, whose mission and self-labeling is described as a “movement designed to unify Christians across all denominational and cultural boundaries in support of Israel,” has already contributed at least $1 million to first responders, hospitals, and other organizations working on the ground in Israel to help victims by providing them with life-saving care.
CUFI’s website states that they are “the foremost Christian organization educating and empowering millions of Americans to speak and act with one voice in defense of Israel and the Jewish people.”
“CUFI’s diversity across political, ethnic, generational, and denominational lines maximizes our impact in communities, in the media, on campus, and in our nation’s capital. CUFI is committed to confronting indifference and combating antisemitism in all its forms wherever it may be found,” it concludes.
The largest conservative organization for women in public policy, Concerned Women for America (CWA), also lists “support for Israel” as one of its “seven core issues.”
“The Abrahamic Covenant between God and the Jewish people giving them their land rights is unconditional and everlasting,” the organization stated in a principles document.
Meanwhile, anti-Israel student organizations at universities throughout the nation have come under fire for claims that Hamas attacks are simply “Palestinians resisting occupations.”
However, CWA’s college chapter members “jumped into action” in defense of the conflict-torn nation.
“Our leaders have shared prayer points, resources and support on social media. YWA hosted a prayer call for Israel on Tuesday afternoon, where multiple leaders prayed,” said a statement from Young Women for America (YWA.)
“In a time where we are seeing vile anti-Israel protests on college campuses, our YWA leaders are standing in the gap for Israel.”
CWA supports improved ties between the United States and Israel as part of its lobbying efforts. In the wake of the attack that claimed the lives of at least 1,200 Israelis and 27 Americans, Penny Nance of CWA came down on the Biden administration last week.
“The attacks on Israel, the torture of children, the rape of women, maiming, kidnapping, and mayhem in the streets can be partially laid at the front door of President Joe Biden and his leftist enablers who thought it made perfect sense to reverse the Trump policies on sanctions against Iran,” Nance said in a statement.
“Throughout the weekend, countless millions of Christians in churches all over the world prayed for Israel. They promised to stand with Israel,” said Rev. Johnnie Moore, president of The Congress of Christian Leaders and the former U.S. Commission International Religious Freedom Commissioner.
Moore also slammed the more left-leaning Christian organization, the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA), for its post-attack statement, which neglected to list Hamas as a terrorist group and urged for “de-escalation” on the side of the Israeli government.
“The Holy Land is of significance far beyond its borders due to its prominence to adherents of the Abrahamic faiths around the world. Jews, Christians and Muslims all have holy sites in the Holy Land and desecration of places sacred to the three faiths has repeatedly contributed to escalating the conflict. We call on believers around the globe to pray for peace and understanding, emphasizing that a just peace depends on actions as much as on thinking and speaking in a way that promotes peace. We pray for the Israeli and the Palestinian people–for their safety and well-being and that they may have a long-lasting, just peace in the Holy Land,” the WEA statement concluded.
