High school football players cheer as coach triumphs over cancer in pregame speech.

I’m Ready for Some Good News

With everything that’s happening these days, I don’t know about you, but I ‌could‍ really use ⁣some good news. And boy, do I have a story for you.

Picture⁣ this: ⁣Eric Coovert, an assistant football coach at Kingwood Park High School in⁢ Kingwood, Texas, delivers a pregame pep talk that goes far beyond the football field.

“I just want to talk‌ about one thing,” Coovert tells his‍ players. “And that’s our slogan ‍from the beginning of this⁢ year: stay relentless.”

“And you guys know ‌that⁢ means more than just on the football field. It means in the classroom, in our lives, in our relationships, and against our personal ⁢demons.”

“And let me tell you something right now — for the last couple⁤ of months, you guys have inspired me. ‍You’ve helped me battle ⁢my own⁢ personal demon, and you all know‍ what that is: cancer.”

“You guys have overcome so much. You’ve conquered the heat, you’ve conquered obstacles in everyday⁣ life. And ‍every day, you motivate me.”

“I want you to know that because you‍ guys are my family, your inspiration⁢ has made me stay relentless in my fight.”

“And last night,⁤ I got a call ‌from my doctor. I’ve gone 1-0⁢ against ⁢cancer.”

The team erupts in cheers at the announcement. It’s a moment of⁢ pure joy and ‌celebration.

Forget Ted Talks and management⁤ textbooks. Coach ‍Coovert’s 42-second pep talk is a ‌masterclass⁢ in motivation.

He teaches⁢ his players to be relentless in all areas of life. And ‌before revealing his own victory, he acknowledges how they‌ have inspired him in his personal health battle.

There’s no “I” ‍in team, and Coach Coovert exemplifies that. It’s all about the collective, the family they’ve become.

Has Cancer Touched Your Life?

Coach Coovert’s words resonate with ⁢so many who‌ have faced the challenges of cancer.⁢ Has someone you love battled this disease?

Has one of your loved ‍ones battled‌ cancer?

Coach Coovert’s announcement of his victory over cancer is met with cheers and applause from his “family.” And it seems his pep talk has inspired them, as they go on‌ to win their game ⁣against Lee High School.

With a record of 6-2, it’s ‍been a ⁣great⁤ season for Kingwood Park.⁢ But the real triumph is Coach Coovert’s victory over cancer, making him 1-0.

We hope and pray ⁢that Coach Coovert remains cancer-free. And we thank him for showing⁤ us what it means to be ⁢relentless.

Go Panthers!
