China criticizes Israel’s excessive response to Hamas attack.
The Chinese Regime Urges Israeli Government to Cease Military Actions in Gaza
The Chinese regime has called on the Israeli government to halt its military operations in Gaza, stating that Israel has exceeded the bounds of self-defense in response to the surprise attack by the Hamas terrorist group last week.
During a phone call with Saudi Arabian counterpart Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, China’s foreign minister Wang Yi conveyed this message.
“Israel’s actions have gone beyond self-defense,” Mr. Wang asserted, urging the Israeli government to cease what he referred to as the “collective punishment of civilians in Gaza,” according to China’s foreign ministry.

The conversation took place after the Israeli foreign ministry strongly criticized Beijing’s failure to condemn Hamas’s unprecedented attack on southern Israel a week ago. The attack resulted in the deaths of over 1,000 civilians and the capture of approximately 150 individuals as hostages.
The Israeli foreign ministry expressed its disappointment to China’s special envoy to the Middle East, Zhai Jun, during a phone call with Israeli ambassador Rafi Harpaz.
The Chinese regime refrained from denouncing the Palestinian terror group. Following the Hamas strike on Israel on October 7, China’s initial response was to call on “relevant parties” to remain calm and exercise restraint. Although not explicitly mentioning Hamas, the statement expressed deep concern about the escalating tensions and violence, and advocated for a two-state resolution. This drew criticism from the United States and Israeli officials, who argued that it lacked sympathy for the Israeli victims.
“When people are being murdered, slaughtered in the streets, this is not the time to call for a two-state solution,” remarked Yuval Waks, a senior official at the Israeli embassy in Beijing, during a briefing on October 8.
Facing pressure, China’s foreign ministry issued an updated statement condemning acts against civilians. However, the statement still avoided mentioning Hamas by name.
“China is a friend to both Israel and Palestine,” stated Mao Ning, a spokeswoman for China’s foreign ministry, during a regular briefing on October 9.
Despite attempting to portray itself as neutral, outside observers argue that the communist regime has taken the side of Palestine.
“We have to consider China’s relationship with Iran because Iran has often acted as a proxy for Beijing. And, of course, Hamas is a proxy of Iran. So essentially, China is fueling these brutal attacks and the invasion of Israel,” explained Gordon Chang, author of “The Coming Collapse of China” and “China Is Going to War.”
“I’m certain that Chinese weapons will appear on the battlefield. Moreover, it is Chinese money that has enabled this,” he added.
Additionally, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken held a conversation with Mr. Wang on Saturday.
According to a statement from the State Department, Mr. Blinken “reiterated U.S. support for Israel’s right to defend itself and called for an immediate cessation of Hamas’ attacks and the release of all hostages.” The statement also mentioned that Mr. Blinken discussed the importance of maintaining stability in the region and discouraging other parties from getting involved in the conflict.
Mr. Wang, on his part, reiterated the regime’s position opposing actions that harm civilians and condemning practices that violate international law.
The top diplomat of the Chinese Communist Party stated that the United States should “play a constructive and responsible role,” working to bring the conflict “back on track for a political settlement as soon as possible,” as per Beijing’s statement.
Their conversation also touched on U.S.–China relations, with Mr. Wang noting signs of stabilization.

China’s stance on the Israeli-Hamas conflict is not surprising, given its longstanding support for Palestinian rights. The Chinese regime has consistently advocated for a two-state solution and has maintained close ties with Palestinian leaders. In recent years, China has also increased its economic and strategic cooperation with Middle Eastern countries, including Iran.
China’s reluctance to openly criticize Hamas can be seen as part of its broader strategy to increase its influence in the region and bolster its relations with countries that are critical of Israel. By aligning itself with Palestinian interests, China seeks to strengthen its position as an influential global player and gain support from countries in the Middle East.
However, China’s support for Palestine does not come without consequences. Its failure to condemn Hamas’s attacks and its lukewarm response to Israel’s concerns have strained its relations with Israel. The Israeli government has expressed its disappointment and frustration with China’s stance, urging it to reconsider its position.
Furthermore, China’s support for Hamas raises questions about its commitment to international peace and stability. By enabling and supporting a terrorist organization, China undermines efforts to resolve conflicts peacefully and perpetuates violence in the region. Its actions not only harm Israel’s security but also threaten the stability of the entire Middle East.
As the international community strives to find a peaceful solution to the Israeli-Hamas conflict, it is essential for all countries, including China, to condemn acts of violence and support a diplomatic resolution. China, as a rising global power, needs to act responsibly and consider the consequences of its actions in the region.
China’s support for Palestine should not come at the expense of Israeli lives and security. The Israeli government has the right to defend its citizens from terrorist attacks and ensure their safety. It is crucial for China to recognize this and call on Hamas to immediately cease its attacks on Israel.
The international community, including China, should work together to promote peace and stability in the Middle East and support a two-state solution that allows both Israelis and Palestinians to live in peace and security. China has the opportunity to play a constructive role in resolving the Israeli-Hamas conflict and contributing to the long-term peace and stability of the region.
It is time for China to demonstrate its commitment to global peace and security by urging Hamas to stop its attacks and supporting efforts to reach a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Hamas conflict. The lives of innocent civilians are at stake, and the international community must stand united in their condemnation of violence and support for peace.
China’s voice carries weight in international affairs, and its support for a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Hamas conflict can make a significant difference. It is time for China to use its influence to promote peace, condemn terrorism, and support the security and well-being of all people in the region.
