Honduran illegal immigrant charged with murder in Nashville, deported twice.

Illegal ⁢Alien Charged with Murder in Tennessee

A ‍twice ‌deported illegal alien from Honduras is facing murder charges in Tennessee ⁢after a man’s body was discovered in a burnt-out⁣ vehicle in Nashville.

Kevin Castro-Garcia has been charged with the murder ‍of 37-year-old Elmer Nahum Miranda-Martinez, whose body was ⁤found in ⁢the trunk of a car that had been set on ‍fire in a ⁤wooded area. Immigration and‍ Customs Enforcement ⁤(ICE) has placed an immigration detainer⁣ on Castro-Garcia.

“This⁢ unlawfully present Honduran national is a threat to the⁣ safety of our local communities. He is ⁣a gang member with Sur 13, a transnational criminal organization. ERO New Orleans will pursue all possible criminal and administrative avenues to see⁢ that‍ he is ⁢prosecuted and removed from our ‍local community,” ‍said ERO New Orleans Field Office Director Mellissa Harper.

The detainer requires state or local law enforcement to notify ICE before ‌releasing Castro-Garcia from custody. He is‌ currently⁤ being held in Davidson County Jail.

Castro-Garcia’s history with immigration authorities dates back to⁢ 2002 when he‌ was encountered‍ by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol. Despite multiple deportations, he has repeatedly reentered the United States illegally.

In October 2018, Castro-Garcia was arrested by Border Patrol near Hidalgo, Texas, and was deported to Honduras. ⁣However, he managed to enter the U.S. illegally for a third time at an unknown date and⁤ location.

The arrest of ‍Castro-Garcia comes amidst concerns over the ⁢Biden administration’s reported plans to release illegal immigrants into Tennessee. Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti‍ has filed a complaint against the Department of Homeland Security and ICE regarding this issue.
