In a shocking incident, an explosion at the Al Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City reportedly claimed the lives of hundreds of people. While Palestinian officials blamed Israel for the strike, Israel’s government has now stated that it was actually an errant Palestinian Islamic Jihad rocket that caused the tragedy.
The Hamas-run Health Ministry reported that at least 500 people were killed in the blast, according to The Associated Press. However, the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) has refuted these claims, asserting that intelligence information from multiple sources points to the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization as responsible for the failed shooting that hit the hospital.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took to social media to emphasize that it was the “barbaric terrorists in Gaza” who attacked the hospital, not the IDF. He condemned the brutal act, highlighting the fact that these terrorists not only murdered innocent children but also their own.

While the exact origin of the rocket remains unknown, a senior U.S. official told ABC News that they are currently unable to determine where it came from.
