Texas Senator Ted Cruz is demanding answers from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regarding the denial of Secret Service protection for presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. In a letter to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Cruz urged swift action to provide the necessary protection for Kennedy.

“This near assassination attempt hardly came as a surprise given that Mr. Kennedy’s original request for Secret Service protection included a sixty-seven page report from a leading private security firm detailing a myriad of unique and well-established safety risks,” Cruz said in the letter.
Cruz has demanded a response from Mayorkas before the end of the month.
