Trump, others criticize Biden for funding Palestinians with US tax dollars, calling it “totally inappropriate.”
President Biden Announces $100 Million in Humanitarian Aid for Gaza and Judea and Samaria
On Wednesday morning, President Joe Biden made a significant announcement. He pledged a fresh $100 million dollars for “humanitarian aid” in Gaza, as well as Judea and Samaria. However, critics wasted no time in pointing out the potential risk of this funding falling into the hands of Islamic extremists at war with Israel.
One of the most vocal critics was former President Donald Trump. Despite facing a civil fraud legal battle in a Manhattan courthouse, Trump took the opportunity to blast the current commander-in-chief.

Earlier in the day, Biden himself acknowledged the risk of Hamas attempting to misappropriate the aid. In a tweet, he stated, “This money will support over 1 million displaced and conflict-affected Palestinians. And we will have mechanisms in place so this aid reaches those in need – not Hamas or terrorist groups.”
I just announced $100 million for humanitarian assistance in Gaza and the West Bank.
This money will support over 1 million displaced and conflict-affected Palestinians.
And we will have mechanisms in place so this aid reaches those in need – not Hamas or terrorist groups.

However, this assurance did little to appease critics like Florida Governor and GOP presidential candidate Ron DeSantis. He expressed his disbelief, stating, “Aid to the Gaza Strip is what Biden is prioritizing today? This aid will, of course, be commandeered by Hamas. No taxpayer dollars should be sent to Gaza. Stop funding jihad!”

Other Republican senators, such as Tom Cotton and Rick Scott, also voiced their concerns. Cotton, a veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, warned that under the current circumstances, “humanitarian assistance” could potentially resupply Hamas terrorists. Scott vowed to propose legislation to halt Biden’s funding, emphasizing the need to prioritize the safe release of all hostages before providing aid to Hamas-controlled Gaza.
It is worth noting that during his presidency, Trump terminated all aid to Gaza and Judea and Samaria as part of his strong anti-terror foreign policy. However, the Biden administration restored this aid in April 2021, only to witness Hamas launching thousands of rockets at Israel shortly after.
Senator Ted Cruz had previously warned about the consequences of Biden’s perceived weakness towards terrorist groups. He stated, “The longer Joe Biden shows weakness to Hamas or Hezbollah or Iran, the more you’re going to see terrorist attacks escalating.” This prediction proved true, as the most recent Hamas terrorist attack occurred shortly after the Biden administration announced the unfreezing of $6 billion in Iranian funds.
Trump also weighed in on the situation, condemning the tragedy in Israel as evidence of the “deadly consequences” resulting from Biden’s ”three years of breathtaking weakness and appeasement.” He expressed these views in an opinion column for Newsweek.
What diplomatic efforts will be undertaken to address the root causes of the conflict and promote peace and stability in the region, in addition to providing humanitarian aid

The announcement of $100 million in humanitarian aid for Gaza, Judea, and Samaria by President Joe Biden has sparked a heated debate among politicians and observers. While the intention behind this aid is to alleviate the suffering of conflict-affected Palestinians and address urgent humanitarian needs, critics have raised concerns about the potential risks associated with funding falling into the hands of extremist groups such as Hamas.
Former President Donald Trump wasted no time in criticizing President Biden’s decision. Despite his own legal battles, Trump took to Twitter to express his disapproval, labeling the move as “totally inappropriate” and highlighting the ongoing conflict between Palestine and Israel. This criticism adds to the already contentious relationship between the two presidents.
President Biden himself acknowledged the risks associated with Hamas attempting to misappropriate the aid. In a tweet, he emphasized that mechanisms would be in place to ensure that the aid reaches those in need and not terrorist groups. This assurance, however, has done little to appease critics who believe that the aid will end up supporting Hamas rather than the intended beneficiaries.
Florida Governor and GOP presidential candidate Ron DeSantis joined the chorus of skeptics, expressing disbelief and stating that no taxpayer dollars should be sent to Gaza. He argued that the aid would inevitably be commandeered by Hamas and used to fund jihad, highlighting the potential dangers of providing financial assistance to a region embroiled in conflict.
The debate surrounding the allocation of aid to Gaza, Judea, and Samaria is complex and multi-faceted. On the one hand, there is a genuine need to address the humanitarian crisis and provide support to those affected by the conflict. On the other hand, there is a legitimate concern about the possible misuse of funds by extremist groups.
It is essential for the Biden administration to ensure that proper oversight and accountability measures are in place to prevent funds from falling into the wrong hands. Transparent monitoring and evaluation processes should be implemented to track the use of the aid and ensure it reaches the intended recipients.
Furthermore, diplomatic efforts should be intensified to foster peace and stability in the region. Addressing the root causes of the conflict and promoting dialogue between Palestine and Israel is crucial to creating sustainable peace and prosperity for all.
The allocation of $100 million in humanitarian aid for Gaza, Judea, and Samaria demonstrates the United States’ commitment to helping those in need. However, it is equally important to mitigate the potential risks associated with this aid and ensure that it truly benefits the most vulnerable populations. By doing so, the Biden administration can play a constructive role in working towards a just and lasting resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
