Movie star and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger claimed ⁤he would make a “great president” of the United States and called for “young blood” in next year’s presidential election.

On Wednesday,‍ the press released an interview with Schwarzenegger,‌ where ‍he discussed the upcoming 2024 presidential elections, as President Joe Biden, 80, and former President ⁤Donald Trump, 77, are⁢ currently the forerunners in ⁣the ‍race.

The Terminator star was asked during ⁢the interview if⁣ he was interested in running for president if it was possible. He is legally unable to run in the presidential race because ⁣he was born in Austria, where he lived until he was 19-years-old.

“I feel like I would ‌make⁢ a great president,” Schwarzenegger⁢ said. “But I feel that, at the same⁢ time, everything I’ve accomplished was because of America.”

The former Republican governor immigrated to the U.S. at the ⁣age of 19 ⁣from Thal, Austria and began pursuing ‌his goal of becoming a world-famous bodybuilder. He then ⁢served as the ‍38th ‌ governor⁣ from 2003⁤ to 2011.

“America gave me so many opportunities and the American people were ‍so ⁤embracing, and they just received me with open arms,” he said. “There was ⁤no one there that ‌stopped me from my success.”

Schwarzenegger also ⁣indicated that ‍the U.S. Constitution ⁣mandates presidents to be natural-born citizens.

Although he ⁢seemed ‍to be content with the current laws in place, he confessed that he would not mind refining immigration‌ rules to ‌enable him to join a future presidential race.

“So⁢ the only thing that I can’t do, which is run for president, I’m‌ not‌ going ‍to⁣ complain about⁢ that,” the Republican said. “I ‍mean OK there is the constitution. We need ⁤some immigration reform, absolutely, to ⁢change that. But it would be a little⁣ bit selfish if‍ I go out and try to change the law.”

Additionally, Schwarzenegger, 76, mentioned that he⁢ would⁤ like‌ to see some “young blood” in the upcoming presidential race.

He implied that it might be time for ⁣his peers to “step down from ⁣their political ranks in order to make room for a much younger generation.”

“I ‌just hope that ⁣America finds some really ⁣young blood,” the movie star⁣ said. “Because to me, it is a little⁢ bit odd⁤ that we ⁢are having a battle between people today in the late seventies and early eighties⁢ rather than people⁤ that are⁤ in their forties and fifties ‌or maybe ‌even younger and have them get a chance at this great, great job.”
