Arnold Schwarzenegger: “I Would Make a Great President”
Movie star and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger claimed he would make a “great president” of the United States and called for “young blood” in next year’s presidential election.
On Wednesday, the press released an interview with Schwarzenegger, where he discussed the upcoming 2024 presidential elections, as President Joe Biden, 80, and former President Donald Trump, 77, are currently the forerunners in the race.
The Terminator star was asked during the interview if he was interested in running for president if it was possible. He is legally unable to run in the presidential race because he was born in Austria, where he lived until he was 19-years-old.
“I feel like I would make a great president,” Schwarzenegger said. “But I feel that, at the same time, everything I’ve accomplished was because of America.”
The former Republican governor immigrated to the U.S. at the age of 19 from Thal, Austria and began pursuing his goal of becoming a world-famous bodybuilder. He then served as the 38th governor from 2003 to 2011.
“America gave me so many opportunities and the American people were so embracing, and they just received me with open arms,” he said. “There was no one there that stopped me from my success.”
Schwarzenegger also indicated that the U.S. Constitution mandates presidents to be natural-born citizens.
Although he seemed to be content with the current laws in place, he confessed that he would not mind refining immigration rules to enable him to join a future presidential race.
“So the only thing that I can’t do, which is run for president, I’m not going to complain about that,” the Republican said. “I mean OK there is the constitution. We need some immigration reform, absolutely, to change that. But it would be a little bit selfish if I go out and try to change the law.”
Additionally, Schwarzenegger, 76, mentioned that he would like to see some “young blood” in the upcoming presidential race.
He implied that it might be time for his peers to “step down from their political ranks in order to make room for a much younger generation.”
“I just hope that America finds some really young blood,” the movie star said. “Because to me, it is a little bit odd that we are having a battle between people today in the late seventies and early eighties rather than people that are in their forties and fifties or maybe even younger and have them get a chance at this great, great job.”

In an interview released on Wednesday, Schwarzenegger stated that he would make a “great president” and called for “young blood” in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
Schwarzenegger, known for iconic roles such as the Terminator, acknowledged that he is unable to run for president due to the constitutional requirement of being a natural-born citizen. However, he expressed his gratitude towards America for the opportunities it provided to him. Schwarzenegger immigrated to the U.S. from Austria at the age of 19 and pursued his dream of becoming a world-famous bodybuilder. He later served as the 38th governor of California from 2003 to 2011.
While content with the current laws in place, Schwarzenegger hinted that he would not mind seeing some immigration reform to enable him to join a future presidential race. He acknowledged the need for adherence to the constitution but also stated the potential for change in immigration laws.
Additionally, Schwarzenegger voiced his belief that it is time for his peers to step down from their political ranks and make room for a younger generation. He emphasized the importance of giving younger individuals an opportunity to contribute and lead the country.
The actor’s comments have sparked discussions about the need for fresh faces and perspectives in politics. At the age of 76, Schwarzenegger believes that having individuals in their forties and fifties, or even younger, would be more suitable for the role of president.
