On Wednesday, Gaines shared an email from Eventbrite on X, the social ⁣media platform formerly known as Twitter.

The email informed her ⁢that her ‌planned event at UC Davis violated the company’s community guidelines and was no longer permitted on the ticketing platform.

Gaines, a well-known former competitive ‌swimmer, has been vocal about her disapproval of transgender women competing against biological ⁤women in‌ sports.

According to a statement shared with the sports media⁢ platform Outkick, Gaines’s event ‌aimed to support “pro-women in women’s sports.”

The email from Eventbrite stated that‍ Gaines’s event “violates community guidelines and terms of service.”

“We have determined⁢ that your event is not permitted on the Eventbrite marketplace as it⁣ violates our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, with which all users agree to comply,” the email reads. “Specifically, we do not allow content or events that – through on-⁤ or off-platform activity – discriminate against, harass, disparage, threaten, incite violence against, or otherwise target individuals or groups based on their actual or perceived race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, immigration status, gender identity, sexual orientation, veteran status, age, or disability. As a result, your event has been unpublished. Please be aware ⁢that severe or repeated violations of our guidelines may result in the suspension ‍or termination of your Eventbrite account. Please reply directly to this email if you have any further questions. We appreciate your understanding and thank you in advance for your cooperation,” the email said.

Gaines shared a screenshot ‌of the email on X (Twitter) and expressed her support for women in sports, stating that advocating for them is not a hate crime.

In‌ her Outkick statement, Gaines reiterated her support for women in sports and confirmed that her event will still take ⁤place in November.

She ‍encouraged her ⁣followers on X to boycott Eventbrite and expressed satisfaction in seeing them delete their accounts.

Notably, Bud Light faced backlash and boycotts after sending a⁢ promotional can to a transgender influencer, negatively impacting sales.

Although Gaines’s event has been removed from Eventbrite, other events supporting Hamas, an Islamic terrorist organization that attacked Israel, remain ⁤listed on the ‍platform.

What are Eventbrite’s community guidelines and how did Gaines’s event violate them?

Eventbrite Bans Former College⁤ Swimmer‌ Riley Gaines for Event Supporting “Pro-Women ‍in Women’s Sports”

October 26, 2023 – Eventbrite, the popular online ticketing site, has recently come under scrutiny⁣ for banning former college swimmer Riley Gaines⁢ from ⁢promoting her upcoming event‍ at the University of California, Davis. The event, which aimed to support “pro-women in ⁢women’s sports,” has been deemed a violation of‌ Eventbrite’s community guidelines,⁤ leading to its⁣ removal from the platform.

Gaines, a ⁤well-known former competitive swimmer, has been vocal about her⁣ disapproval of transgender women competing against biological ‍women in sports.⁢ Her event at UC Davis was intended to shed ‌light on this controversial‌ topic and advocate for fair competition in women’s sports.

Gaines shared a ‌screenshot of the email she received from Eventbrite on a social media platform and expressed her support for women in sports. She emphasized that promoting women’s ⁢sports is not a hate crime and should be welcomed and⁣ encouraged.

In the⁤ email, Eventbrite cited a violation of their community guidelines and terms of ⁣service as‌ the reason for removing Gaines’s event. The email stated that Eventbrite does not allow content or events that ⁤discriminate against, harass, disparage, threaten, incite violence against, or target individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, immigration ⁤status, gender ‌identity, sexual ⁣orientation, veteran status, age, or disability.

Gaines, however, ⁤remains determined to host her event and reaffirmed her support for women in sports in a statement to Outkick,⁤ a sports media platform. She encouraged her followers to boycott Eventbrite in response to their decision, expressing satisfaction in seeing people delete their accounts.

This incident raises concerns about the selective application of Eventbrite’s community guidelines. While Gaines’s event supporting women in sports was removed, other ‍events promoting organizations such as Hamas, an Islamic terrorist group that has attacked Israel in the past, are still listed on the ⁤platform.

Notably, this ‌is not the first time ⁢a company has faced backlash for a controversial decision. ⁣Bud⁤ Light, a popular beer brand, faced boycotts⁤ after sending⁤ a promotional‌ can to a transgender ‌influencer, which adversely affected their sales.

The banning of Gaines’s event highlights the ongoing debate⁤ surrounding‍ transgender women in‍ women’s‌ sports. It serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by individuals who express dissenting opinions on sensitive topics, as they often face censorship or⁣ ostracization.

As society continues to⁤ navigate these complex issues, ⁢it‌ is essential‌ to foster open dialogue and allow for different perspectives to be heard. While it is crucial to create inclusive environments for all individuals, it is equally important to uphold freedom⁢ of speech and‌ ensure that diverse⁣ opinions are respected and‌ considered.

In the case of Eventbrite, their decision raises questions about the consistency and fairness of their community
