The Israeli military has announced they have destroyed the house of a senior leader of Hamas.
Footage posted on the social media platform X on Tuesday showed that the Israeli military wiped out the house of Saleh al-Arouri, a senior Hamas commander, who was occupied in the West Bank.
Al-Arouri, who is believed to live in Lebanon, is the deputy chairman of the terrorist organization. Reports claim that neither he or his family were inside the home when it was destroyed.
Israeli forces have singled out al-Arouri and other leaders of the terrorist group after the deadly attacks against Israel on October 7th.
“Engineering forces, the IDF and the Israel Defense Forces operated tonight in the village of Arora in the Binyamin Brigade area to demolish the home of the terrorist Salah Arori, deputy head of the Political Bureau and responsible for Hamas’s activities in the Judea and Samaria region,” the IDF said in a statement referencing the West Bank. “One of the senior Hamas operatives residing abroad and responsible for targeting terrorism from Judea and Samaria.”
Al-Arouri has spent 17 years in Israeli jails, rising to the top in 2014 by admitting to the abduction and killing of three Israeli teenagers.
“It was more of a symbolic move to blow up this house,” said Al Jazeera correspondent Bernard Smith, from Ramallah. “Of course, they really want al-Arouri himself … he is considered to be one of the real masterminds behind the October 7 attack that Hamas launched into Israeli territory.”
Additionally, the Israeli army announced air attacks killed Nasim Abu Ajina, who is the commander of the Beit Lahia battalion in the northern division of Hamas.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected calls for a ceasefire as Israel has continuously carried out airstrikes on Gaza.
“Calls for a ceasefire are calls for Israel to surrender to Hamas.”

Israel Announces Destruction of Hamas Leader’s House
The Israeli military has recently announced the destruction of the house belonging to a senior leader of Hamas. The targeted individual, Saleh al-Arouri, is a senior Hamas commander who was reportedly occupying the house in the West Bank. Footage shared on social media platforms on Tuesday displayed the Israeli military wiping out Al-Arouri’s residence.
The deputy chairman of the terrorist organization, Al-Arouri, is believed to reside in Lebanon. However, reports indicate that neither he nor his family were present in the house when it was destroyed. Israeli forces have specifically targeted Al-Arouri and other Hamas leaders following the deadly attacks against Israel on October 7th.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) issued a statement declaring the operation. “Engineering forces, the IDF and the Israel Defense Forces operated tonight in the village of Arora in the Binyamin Brigade area to demolish the home of the terrorist Salah Arori, deputy head of the Political Bureau and responsible for Hamas’s activities in the Judea and Samaria region,” the statement reads. It also emphasized Al-Arouri’s role as one of the senior Hamas operatives residing abroad and responsible for targeting terrorism from the West Bank.
Al-Arouri has a history of imprisonment by Israeli authorities, having spent 17 years in Israeli jails. He rose to prominence in 2014 when he admitted to the abduction and killing of three Israeli teenagers. Commenting on the destruction of Al-Arouri’s house, Al Jazeera correspondent Bernard Smith stated that it was more of a symbolic move. He explained, “Of course, they really want Al-Arouri himself… he is considered to be one of the real masterminds behind the October 7th attack that Hamas launched into Israeli territory.”
In addition to the attack on Al-Arouri’s residence, the Israeli army also carried out air strikes that resulted in the killing of Nasim Abu Ajina, the commander of the Beit Lahia battalion in the northern division of Hamas.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected calls for a ceasefire,
