Rabbi interrupts Biden’s campaign, urges Gaza ceasefire.

President Joe Biden Heckled by Rabbi Calling for Ceasefire in ⁤Gaza

During a campaign event in ⁤Minnesota, President Joe Biden faced an unexpected interruption that added a dramatic twist to his speech. A bearded rabbi named Jessica Rosenberg, known for her activism with the⁢ Jewish Voice for Peace group, stood up and boldly called on Biden to push for a‌ ceasefire in Gaza.

“Mr. President, if you care about Jewish ‌people, as a rabbi, I need for you to call ⁣for a ceasefire,⁣ right now, in Gaza,”

The crowd’s denunciations⁣ drowned out the ⁣rest of Rosenberg’s ‍comments, but her message had already made‌ an impact. President Biden couldn’t ignore the plea and responded by‍ acknowledging the need⁢ for a “pause.”

“I think we need a⁣ pause. A⁤ pause means give time to get the prisoners out,”

Biden assured Rosenberg that he had already taken action to address ⁤the situation, mentioning his efforts to ⁤convince Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and‍ Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi ⁢to ‍support⁤ a ceasefire. As ⁣Rosenberg was escorted out, she continued to chant, “Ceasefire ⁣now!”

The rabbi’s unconventional approach to activism is reflected in her involvement‍ with various Jewish⁣ LGBT and pacifist organizations. Her online ‍biography even ‌mentions‍ her connection to American Indian land. The Jewish ⁣Voice ‌for Peace group, to which she belongs, has been at ⁤the ⁤forefront of several high-profile protests, including one outside the White House that resulted in multiple arrests. ‍Critics have labeled their recent demonstration at the United States Capitol, demanding⁣ a⁣ ceasefire in Gaza, as an “insurrection.”
