Florida nonprofit teams up with BRAVE Books to stock libraries with family-friendly titles.
A Nonprofit Group in Florida Partners with Conservative Book Company for Fundraiser
A nonprofit group in Florida has teamed up with a conservative book company to launch a fundraiser aimed at providing family-friendly books to school libraries. The partnership between Citizens Defending Freedom and BRAVE Books is a response to the growing concern over sexually explicit literature found in schools across the United States. Conservative lawmakers have made this issue a major talking point, and the goal of the fundraiser is to donate 500 books to public schools by the end of the year.
Countering Inappropriate Material in Schools
“We will be distributing the books to our CDF counties who have been actively fighting to remove inappropriate books from their school districts,” said Lindsay Rives, a national media correspondent for CDF. “Our CDF counties, in turn, will deliver those books to their school districts. For example, one of the school districts that will benefit from this book campaign is Plano ISD in Texas. After our CDF Collin County team assisted in the removal of inappropriate material, it is important to our organization to donate wholesome content back.”
The fundraiser began on Wednesday and will continue until November 28th, also known as Giving Tuesday. Donors have the option to choose from different tiers of donations, with $50 donations entering them into a raffle for a coffee tumbler, and $100 donations not only entering them into the raffle but also receiving recognition for their contribution on CDF’s weekly show and social media platforms.
Wholesome Books for Children
Through this fundraiser, various children’s books from BRAVE Books will be donated. These include three books written by Kirk Cameron: “As You Grow,” “The FOX the Fair and the Invention Scare,” and “Pride Comes Before the Fall.” Additionally, two other books, “Son of Truth” by Graham Allen and “That’s What Families Are For” by Nicole Saphier, will also be donated.
CDF, a Christian-based nonprofit organization, aims to encourage individuals to stand for and preserve freedom for themselves and future generations. The organization has formed partnerships with other conservative groups such as Turning Point USA and Alliance Defending Freedom.
“Citizens Defending Freedom has been on the front lines of ridding our public schools of age-inappropriate materials that have been made widely available to children all over the country,” Rives explained. “Our next step is to offer wholesome, family-friendly material as an alternative to the violent and pornographic materials in those schools. That’s why during this Giving Season, we’re planning to flood public school libraries with content that is appropriate for children.”
How parents help children’s moral development?
Help children use moral behavior. Offer opportunities to care for pets, babysit, etc. Encourage your child to come up with ways to make reparation if he hurts someone or something. Instead of forcing your child to make an immediate apology, guide them to understanding their behavior. S have been working tirelessly to ensure that children are not exposed to sexually explicit or inappropriate material in school libraries. This fundraiser will allow us to provide alternative books that align with our conservative values and promote morality and virtue.”
The partnership between Citizens Defending Freedom (CDF) and BRAVE Books aims to address the concerns of conservative parents and educators who believe that sexually explicit literature has become increasingly prevalent in school libraries. This view is shared by many conservative lawmakers who argue that such material is inappropriate and harmful to young readers. While there may be differing opinions on the matter, CDF and BRAVE Books are taking proactive measures to promote alternative reading options that promote traditional values and emphasize the importance of family-friendly content.
BRAVE Books, the conservative book company involved in the fundraiser, specializes in selecting and publishing books that uphold conservative values and promote positive role models for children. They are dedicated to creating a literary world that aligns with the principles of faith, family, and freedom. Through this partnership, CDF aims to support and amplify the mission of BRAVE Books by ensuring that their curated collection of books reaches school libraries across Florida.
The fundraiser has set a target goal of donating 500 books to public schools in Florida by the end of the year. These books will be carefully selected to provide students with an alternative to sexually explicit material, while still promoting literacy and a love for reading. The focus will be on offering books that are suitable for young readers, with engaging stories, positive messages, and characters that espouse traditional values and ethics.
CDF and BRAVE Books hope that this partnership will not only counter the presence of inappropriate material in school libraries but also encourage children to read books that align with their families’ values. By providing schools with an alternative selection of books, they aim to empower parents and educators to make informed choices when it comes to the literature available to their children.
Education is a crucial aspect of a child’s upbringing, and it is important that materials available in school libraries promote values that are consistent with those taught at home. This partnership between CDF and BRAVE Books is an encouraging step towards addressing the concerns expressed by conservative parents and lawmakers regarding the inappropriate content found in school libraries.
While it is essential to promote diversity and freedom of expression, it is equally crucial to strike a balance that protects the innocence and well-being of young readers. By providing family-friendly books through this fundraiser, CDF and BRAVE Books are fostering a literary environment that offers an alternative to sexually explicit material while promoting values that are important to conservative families.
Through partnerships like this, it is possible to find common ground and work towards solutions that respect the values and beliefs of different communities. This collaborative effort can have a positive impact on the education and well-being of students, ensuring that they have access to literature that promotes positive values and morality.
As the fundraiser continues, CDF and BRAVE Books hope to inspire other nonprofit groups and conservative entities across the country to collaborate in similar endeavors, ultimately fostering an educational system that upholds the principles and beliefs of its diverse stakeholders.
The partnership between CDF and BRAVE Books demonstrates that through productive partnerships and collective action, nonprofit organizations and conservative entities can work together to address important social issues while promoting their shared goals and values. By providing alternative literature to school libraries, this collaboration aims to create a positive impact on the education and moral development of students, ensuring that they have access to books that reflect their families’ values and promote a healthier literary environment.
