GOP super PAC predicts House Republicans will increase their majority in 2024, despite speaker controversy.
A Super PAC’s Confidence in Republican Majority Expansion in 2024
A super PAC aligned with the House Republican leadership expressed unwavering confidence in the party’s ability to expand their majority in 2024, despite recent chaos within the GOP.
In a memo, Dan Conston, the president of the Congressional Leadership Fund, emphasized that House Republicans are in a “strong position to hold and grow their majority.” He praised Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) for his eagerness and determination to invest in the fight for expanding the House majority.

“The House leadership team is focused on an agenda that prioritizes economic growth, tackles Biden’s inflation, brings fiscal commonsense to Washington, ensures community safety, and stands firmly with Israel, our greatest ally in the Middle East,” stated Conston in the memo, which was released one year before the 2024 elections.
The Congressional Leadership Fund has been the primary super PAC aligned with House GOP leadership since 2011. However, concerns arose about its future after Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) was ousted. Fortunately, Johnson’s endorsement of the Congressional Leadership Fund and its leadership team quickly dispelled any doubts.
Now, the Congressional Leadership Fund continues its work and remains committed to helping Republicans maintain and expand their majority.
The Congressional Leadership Fund conducted a poll in four districts where Republicans currently hold seats that President Joe Biden won in 2020. These districts include Rep. Jen Kiggans (R-VA), Rep. Mike Garcia (R-CA), Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY), and Rep. Nick LaLota (R-NY).
“Despite claims from Democrats that recent House events will jeopardize Republicans in the upcoming November elections, our poll revealed that voters overwhelmingly believe their Member is actively working to end the chaos in Washington,” Conston stated in the memo.
In the poll conducted from October 18-25, voters expressed significantly higher favorability towards Lawler, LaLota, Garcia, and Kiggans compared to Republicans in Congress as a whole. Lawler received a 29-point higher favorability rating, LaLota 19 points higher, Garcia 16 points higher, and Kiggans 15 points higher.
“Time and again, we have witnessed strong House Republican candidates and Members outperforming other Republicans,” the memo highlighted. “To further support this, we conducted surveys in four Biden-won GOP-held districts over the past week. Contrary to what is portrayed on cable news, the political environment remains favorable, with Republicans leading on the generic ballot in all four Biden-won districts.”

The Republicans’ commitment to economic growth, addressing inflation, fiscal responsibility, community safety, and support for Israel were cited as key elements of their platform that attract voters.
Conston also praised Speaker Mike Johnson for his leadership and dedication to the cause. He commended Johnson’s willingness to invest in the fight for expanding the House majority, noting his strategic vision and ability to rally support within the party.
However, the memo acknowledged that the road to expanding the majority would not be easy. The GOP faces significant challenges, including the ongoing division within the party and the need to navigate a rapidly changing political landscape. While challenges remain, the Republicans believe they are well-positioned to grow their majority and continue advancing their agenda for the betterment of the American people.
