On The View, Hillary Clinton made a bold statement about the potential consequences of a ⁤Donald Trump victory in⁢ the 2024 presidential election.⁣ She warned that America would ⁢face ⁤”almost unimaginable wreckage”⁢ and drew a parallel between Trump ⁢and ‌Adolf ⁤Hitler, the infamous⁤ dictator⁢ of Germany in the 1930s.

Clinton accused Trump of⁤ having ⁤”dictatorial, authoritarian impulses” that would lead to ‍the “end of our country ⁣as we know it.” She even suggested that he would imprison his opponents and suppress free speech if he were to regain the⁤ presidency.

In her⁣ interview on The View, Clinton referenced Hitler’s rise to⁢ power and warned that someone with similar tendencies could shut down opposition and throw people in jail. She emphasized ⁣that⁢ Trump is openly ‍expressing his intentions, unlike past dictators.

“…And ‌you could⁤ see it in countries where, well, Hitler was duly⁢ elected! And so all of⁤ a sudden, somebody with those tendencies,‍ so dictatorial authoritarian tendencies would be like, ‘Oh, okay,‌ we’re going‌ to shut this down. We’re going⁢ to throw these ⁣people in‌ jail,'” Clinton said.

Clinton, who lost to Trump in the 2016 presidential election, expressed concern about the potential consequences of another Trump presidency. ⁢Currently, Trump is the leading candidate for the ‌GOP nomination in⁢ the 2024 election.

“The‍ wreckage is almost unimaginable. You know, when I was Secretary of State, ⁣I used⁢ to talk about ‘won and done.’ What I meant⁤ by that⁢ was⁣ people would get legitimately elected and ‍then they ‍would try ⁣to do away with elections, and do away with opposition, and⁤ do away with a free press… And ‌you could‌ see in ‍countries ⁢where – well, Hitler was duly elected right – all of⁣ a sudden someone with those tendencies, those dictatorial, authoritarian tendencies, would be like OK we’re going‌ to shut this down, we’re going⁣ to throw these ⁣people in jail… And they didn’t⁤ usually telegraph that. Trump ⁢is telling us what he intends to do. Take him at his word. The man means to throw people in jail who disagree with him,‍ shut down legitimate press outlets, do what he can to literally undermine the rule of⁣ law and our country’s ‌values,” Clinton added.

In history, Hitler initially lost ⁢the 1932 presidential⁣ election in Germany, but ‍his party secured the most seats⁢ in a subsequent legislative⁣ election. This led to his appointment as Chancellor and eventually ‍his⁤ dictatorship.

When asked again on The View about the potential ⁤consequences of a Trump victory, Clinton reiterated her belief that it would be the “end of‌ our country as we know it.” She⁤ criticized Trump’s behavior since his inauguration, accusing him ⁢of⁣ spreading false information and undermining⁢ democratic values.
