The U.S. European Command (EUCOM) has confirmed that a military aircraft crashed into the Mediterranean Sea during a routine air refueling mission, resulting in the tragic loss of all five service members on board.
In a statement released by the EUCOM, they emphasized that the crash was purely related to training and there are no indications of hostile activity.
Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin also acknowledged the incident, revealing that the crash involved a helicopter.

The identities of the crewmembers have not been publicly released as their families are still being notified.
