Under the leadership of the Biden Administration, the Democratic Party, and liberals, the world is becoming an increasingly dangerous place for honest, hard-working individuals. Meanwhile, criminals are thriving.
The reason behind this is simple: Danger and fear give criminals power and control over our lives, and that’s exactly what they want. Once unleashed, it’s difficult to reverse the course of society.
A recent incident at a new Tanger Outlet center in Antioch, Tennessee serves as an example. According to WSMV-TV, a man and a woman robbed the store, making off with thousands of dollars worth of designer merchandise less than a month after its opening.
Cellphone and surveillance videos captured the thieves, wearing medical masks and beanies, running out of a Michael Kors store with expensive jackets and handbags.
One brave store employee attempted to hold the doors closed, shouting “Stop!” and trying to retrieve some of the stolen items as the thieves fled. Unfortunately, this scenario has become all too common in retail stores across the nation.
The Biden regime, through its lack of action, lenient punishments, and compliant policies, supports and rewards criminals. As a result, these thieves have no fear, while the rest of us live in constant apprehension. Customers no longer have any illusions that the situation will improve under Democratic leadership.
This acceptance of looting has caused many to simply request more security, rather than demanding an end to the crime. Dorea Fitzgerald, a resident of the community for 15 years, refuses to let the incident deter her from shopping at the outlets. She remarked, “I feel like it’s part of the holiday season. People are going to steal. That is what it is. I’m not concerned.”
Not only is this response disheartening, but it also paves the way for even more crime. By accepting a rising crime rate, people contribute to a horrifying new norm that erodes the fabric of our country.
Crime has the potential to destroy everything it touches. It will take a collective effort to regain control, not just additional police presence. Janice Green, who visited the Tanger Outlet with her daughter, expressed the need for increased security, stating, “You think they’d wait a while and let them get settled first. It wouldn’t hurt to have a little bit of security for a while, anyway.”
These thieves belong behind bars, and the outlet should be able to operate without fear. Shoppers deserve to enjoy their experience without worry. Unfortunately, it seems like we are becoming more like a Third-World nation with each passing day.
The Tanger outlet manager assured ongoing communication with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department and retailer security counterparts to address the issue. However, what about the rest of the nation facing similar challenges? We cannot allow this to become the new normal.
