Media portrays Trump as Hitler, but not Hamas.

The Controversial Statements of Donald Trump and Elon Musk

The other day, Donald Trump made an ‍intemperate comment in one‌ of his speeches about his platform, Truth Social. That’s nothing new, nor is it anything shocking. As I’ve said before, ‌Donald Trump’s epitaph ⁢may end ⁣up ‌reading, “Donald Trump, 45th President of the United States: He Said A Lot Of Stuff.”

With this particular statement, Trump set the internet ablaze by saying, “We will root out the communists, Marxists, fascists, and the radical-Left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country. … ⁤The threat from outside forces is far ‌less sinister,⁢ dangerous, and grave than the threat‍ from within.”

Now, ‍that isn’t exactly the best ⁣use of language. The use of language like “vermin” is ugly. But the media weren’t content to make that point. They immediately went all the way to comparing Trump to Hitler, endlessly.

Now, let it‌ be said at⁤ this point that Donald ⁤Trump isn’t Hitler. Not only is‌ he not Hitler, but he is also the⁣ most pro-Israel and pro-Jewish president in American history, bar ‍none.

But herein lies the⁣ true insanity: Many of the ‌same members of the media tone-policing Trump as a “Hitlerian” figure have been simultaneously pooh-poohing today’s actual Nazis, Hamas and their supporters. Figures like Mehdi Hasan and the rest of the hosts of MSNBC, who seem to⁢ have made it their life’s mission to downplay Hamas’ evil in order to establish⁢ moral equivalence with the Jewish State, are first on the bandwagon to sniff out Hitlerian references.

Except for the people ⁣who‍ actually love Hitler,⁤ of course.

Elon Musk’s Controversial Tweet

Some of ⁤the same dynamic has ‍been striking Elon Musk over the course‌ of the last ‍24 hours. Musk made a rather large X (Twitter) error last night. Someone‍ on X posted the following message: “Jewish communities have been pushing the exact kind of dialectical hatred against whites that they claim to want people to stop using against them. I’m deeply ‍disinterested ‍in giving the tiniest s*** now about‌ western Jewish populations coming to the disturbing realization‍ that those hordes of minorities that support flooding their ⁤country don’t exactly like them too much. ‍You want truth said to your face,⁤ there it is.”

Musk then tweeted in reply, “You have said the actual truth.”

So, it is true that certain Jewish organizations⁤ have bought into⁤ and promoted diversity, equity, and inclusion ⁤regimens and pushed‌ for open borders; it is also true that some of those organizations are now realizing, post-October 7, that open immigration⁢ for those who hate Jews wasn’t a ⁤particularly wise idea.

The problem with the tweet is that it labels “Jewish communities” ⁣en masse. ‍My community, for example, has always opposed DEI and open borders ‌for radical Muslims. In fact, most Orthodox communities have. Presumably, then, Musk read “Jewish communities” as “ADL.”

And indeed, that’s ⁣precisely⁤ what Musk then clarified: “The ADL unjustly attacks the majority of the West, despite the majority of the ‌West supporting the Jewish people and Israel. This is because⁣ they cannot, by their own tenets, criticize the minority groups who are ⁤their primary threat. It is not right and needs to stop.”

Musk went on to state, “You’re right that this does not extend to all Jewish communities, ⁤but it is also not just limited to ADL.” ⁤This ⁢is ⁢more specific and more correct.

But a huge number of people‌ decided that now was the⁢ time to link Musk with the‌ alt-Right and the so-called “Jewish Question,” and support the notion that Musk is a crypto-Nazi.

It is not a coincidence many of the people doing just that are happily calling for Israel to cease fire in its war with Hamas. Very often, anti-Semitism ⁤becomes a political football: When you can hang the label on Donald Trump or Elon Musk, you do; when⁤ you are forced to denounce pro-Hamas protesters shouting “From the River to the Sea, Palestine Must Be Free,” ‌you suddenly get quite shy.

Thus,‌ the same media that leapt‍ on both Trump and Musk have been downplaying the open Jew-hatred at massive pro-Hamas protests across the globe, while propagating lies about Israel’s supposed human rights violations.

Instead, they’re focusing on their political enemies and deeming them acolytes of Hitler. That might have more bite if they would ⁤simultaneously spend some time talking about the actual acolytes of Hitler on planet earth, who are right now holding some‍ 240 Jews and others hostage ⁤in Gaza. But those people are silent.

Celebrities and the Selective Outrage

Take, for example, the celebrity class. In 2014, the Islamic terrorist‍ group Boko Haram kidnapped 276 mostly Christian female students in Nigeria. The celebrity class sprang into action. ⁤Michelle Obama. Ellen⁢ DeGeneres. Queen Latifa. They all held up signs reading #BringBackOurGirls.

By the way, it didn’t work: One hundred of the girls are still missing. But that’s not the point. The point is⁤ that everybody sprang into action against Boko Haram, at least in principle.

Have we seen any of these same celebrities holding up #BringBackOurBabies signs for Americans being held hostage in Gaza? Not many.

But we have ‍seen members of the media like Gayle King lecture⁢ a grieving Jewish father whose 8-year-old daughter‌ is currently being‌ held by Hamas: “This seems to be all about politics. What do ‌you say about that? You have innocent children,⁤ Palestinians who are ⁣dying, innocent Israeli children who are dying, ‌and no one seems to⁣ be‍ able to say enough, stop that.”

There is plenty of Jew-hatred on planet earth. But anyone who is spending their⁣ days going after Donald Trump and Elon Musk for anti-Semitism while leaving Hamas untouched ‍is pretty obviously not concerned about ⁢Jew-hatred.

How does the selective outrage and bias exhibited by certain ⁣media outlets and individuals undermine their credibility and perpetuate a dangerous ‍narrative that downplays the true dangers in today’s ⁤world

Embers of the media who were quick to criticize Trump and Musk for their‍ controversial statements conveniently⁤ ignore the ‍actual⁢ threats posed ‌by⁣ groups like ‍Hamas. They downplay the‌ evils of Hamas in order to establish moral equivalence with the Jewish state. This double standard ⁤is not⁣ only hypocritical but also dangerous.

It is important to clarify that neither Trump‍ nor⁤ Musk are ⁣advocating for hate or violence against ‍any specific group. Their comments, while controversial, should not be misconstrued or ‍sensationalized to‍ fit a particular narrative.⁣ However, the media’s relentless ⁣comparison of Trump to Hitler and the labeling of Musk as a crypto-Nazi is ⁣not only unfounded but also damaging to their reputations.

In Trump’s case, ‍it is evident that he has been ⁣one of the most pro-Israel⁢ and pro-Jewish presidents in ⁢American history. To equate him with Hitler ‌is not only ignorant but also disrespectful to the millions of lives lost during the Holocaust. Similarly, Musk’s tweet should be understood in context. He was referring to specific organizations and their support ‌for certain policies, not ⁢making a sweeping statement about the entire‍ Jewish community.

The underlying issue here is the selective outrage and bias exhibited by certain media outlets and individuals. While they are ‍quick to condemn Trump and Musk, they conveniently ‌ignore the real‌ threats posed ⁢by groups like ‍Hamas. This kind of hypocrisy‍ undermines their credibility and perpetuates a dangerous narrative that downplays the true dangers in today’s world.

Anti-Semitism should never be tolerated, regardless‌ of‌ who it comes from.‌ It⁣ is important to ⁤address and condemn any form of ‌discrimination⁣ or ⁤hatred. However, it is equally important to be fair and balanced‍ in our analysis and not to jump to hasty conclusions based on individual statements taken out⁤ of‍ context.

In conclusion, ‍the controversial statements made by Trump⁤ and Musk have sparked outrage and criticism,‌ but it⁤ is crucial to approach these situations with proper context and understanding. The media’s tendency to sensationalize and demonize certain individuals undermines the importance of addressing real threats ⁣like ⁤anti-Semitism and terrorism. We must strive to have⁢ open and honest discussions while avoiding hyperbole and selective outrage.
