On November 13, a group of Jewish leaders known as “Rabbis for Ceasefire” gathered near the U.S. Capitol in Washington to pray and call for a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas conflict, according to ABC News.
The event, reported by The Detroit News, included a news conference with members of the left-wing “squad” of lawmakers, such as Rashida Tlaib, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, and Ilhan Omar, who have made controversial statements in the past.

The group described the gathering as a public morning service, where prayers for a cease-fire would echo through the streets and reach elected officials’ offices.

During the service, the rabbis also chanted a portion of the Torah, following the Jewish custom of reading the same section across communities in the same week.
However, what happened next was quite ironic.
As pointed out by Jewish posters on social media, the week’s reading included God’s promise to Isaac, the son of the Jewish patriarch Abraham, found in Genesis 26:3.
“Watch her drop her voice to a whisper TWICE when she awkwardly gets to the text, ‘to you and to your descendants will I give all these lands (Israel)…,'” noted Israeli entrepreneur Lazer Cohen.

Ari Hoffman, a host at KVI-AM in Seattle, called the situation “delicious” and highlighted the irony of anti-Israel “Jews” reading the Torah at a rally with Rep. Rashida Tlaib.

Rabbi Yaakov Menken didn’t hold back, calling the “Rabbis for Ceasefire” frauds for deliberately mumbling and skipping over God’s promise of the Holy Land to the Jews.
For those who don’t understand, when the so-called “Rabbis for Ceasefire” read the Torah portion, they deliberately mumbled & skipped over God’s promise of the Holy Land to the Jews.

Perhaps these rabbis should have checked the weekly reading before publicly disproving themselves.
The Unchanging Truth of God’s Word
The Torah, part of the Bible’s Old Testament, clearly states that the land of Israel belongs to the Jewish people, as promised to Abraham and his descendants through Isaac.
While people may have differing opinions on policies and politics related to the Holy Land, it is contradictory to claim belief in the Scriptures while denying the Jewish people’s right to possess the land.
The rabbi’s attempt to mumble away an inconvenient passage serves as a powerful reminder that God’s Word transcends personal agendas.
Despite attempts to interpret Scripture to fit certain views, God’s truth remains unchanged.
