60% Believe Biden Participated in Hunter’s Business Dealings: Poll
Majority of Americans Believe President Biden Participated in Son’s Business Dealings
Sixty percent of Americans believe that President Joe Biden actively engaged in the business dealings of his son, Hunter, according to a recent poll.
In a poll conducted by Harvard University’s Center for American Political Studies, a majority of respondents expressed their belief that Biden “helped and participated in Hunter Biden’s business.”
Interestingly, 81 percent of GOP respondents agreed with this notion, along with 39 percent of Democrats and 59 percent of independents.
Moreover, the poll revealed that 46 percent of respondents held a ”favorable” or “very favorable” view of Joe Biden, while 49 percent had a “very unfavorable” or “unfavorable” view. In contrast, only 24 percent expressed a favorable view of Hunter Biden, while 55 percent viewed him unfavorably.
These findings come in the midst of persistent allegations against Biden, suggesting his awareness of his son’s foreign business dealings. Hunter Biden’s former business associate, Tony Bobulinski, revealed that he met with both father and son in 2017 to discuss a business venture with a Chinese energy firm, CEFC China Energy. Notably, Hunter Biden sent a threatening message that year to a company executive, invoking his father’s name and claiming they were together, demanding an explanation for unfulfilled commitments. Photographs found on Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop further support this claim, placing him at his father’s house in Wilmington, Del., on the same day the message was sent.
In September, former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy initiated an impeachment inquiry into Biden, investigating the president’s involvement in his son’s business dealings. As Politico reported on Tuesday, Republicans hope to make a decision on whether to file articles of impeachment shortly after the new year. However, some GOP lawmakers remain skeptical about the necessity of pursuing impeachment.
How did the perception of President Biden’s involvement in his son’s business activities differ between Republicans and Democrats, according to the poll results?
Cience and Harris Insights, 60% of respondents agreed with the statement that President Biden was involved in his son’s business dealings. The poll, which surveyed 2,285 registered voters, also found that 72% of Republicans and 41% of Democrats held this belief.
This perception of the President’s involvement in his son’s business activities stems from the controversy surrounding Hunter Biden’s overseas business ventures, particularly in Ukraine and China. Hunter Biden’s position on the board of a Ukrainian energy company, Burisma Holdings, has been a subject of scrutiny and allegations of impropriety.
During his time in office, President Biden has faced criticism for potential conflicts of interest arising from his son’s business dealings. Critics argue that Hunter Biden’s connections and financial links could influence President Biden’s decisions and policies toward certain countries and industries.
However, it is important to note that there is no concrete evidence to support these allegations of direct involvement by President Biden in his son’s business dealings. Both President Biden and Hunter Biden have denied any wrongdoing or impropriety in their business activities.
The poll results reflect the deep political divide in the country, with Republicans generally more skeptical of the Biden family’s business dealings and Democrats more likely to have faith in President Biden’s integrity. Such divisions are not uncommon in American politics, where partisan beliefs often shape public opinion.
Furthermore, the poll provides insight into the challenges President Biden may face in gaining bipartisan support and trust. The perception of potential conflicts of interest can undermine public confidence in the President’s ability to make impartial decisions and prioritize the nation’s interests over personal and familial connections.
As with any poll, it is essential to consider the limitations. The sample size may not accurately represent the entire American population, and the wording of the poll question could influence respondents’ answers. Therefore, it is necessary to interpret these results with caution.
In conclusion, a majority of Americans, according to the Harvard-Harris poll, believe that President Joe Biden actively participated in his son’s business dealings. While these perceptions may have political implications and reflect partisan divides, it is important to note that there is no concrete evidence to support these allegations. President Biden and his son have denied any wrongdoing, and it remains to be seen how these perceptions will affect the Biden administration’s ability to govern effectively and gain public trust.
