Tucker Carlson exposes Fox News’ true sentiments on Jan. 6 footage
Tucker Carlson Reveals Fox News’ True Reaction to Jan. 6 Footage
After being ousted from Fox News over seven months ago, conservative pundit Tucker Carlson has finally opened up about how his former employer truly felt about the Jan. 6 footage he aired.
In a captivating podcast interview released on Thursday, Carlson shared with host Roseanne Barr that Fox’s leadership “really didn’t like” his coverage of the Jan. 6 Capitol incursion. He boldly claimed that the so-called insurrection was a “set-up” and a “lie.”
“A bunch of people quit over that,” Carlson revealed. “They were so outraged because I said it seems like there were probably a lot of feds in the crowd on Jan. 6.”
“Oh yeah, buttloads,” Barr replied, emphasizing the extent of Carlson’s claims.
Carlson continued, ”And now it turns out, of course, there were way more than I even imagined. The whole thing was a complete set-up. The whole thing was a lie, and it was used to put people in prison for expressing their constitutionally protected rights.”

These revelations come as more than 1,200 Americans who were connected to the protests at the Capitol on that fateful day in 2021 have been arrested on various charges, including alleged assault or destruction of government property, according to the Department of Justice.
In addition to his Jan. 6 reporting, Carlson also disclosed that Fox ”strongly disagreed” with his questioning of the official narrative surrounding the Russia-Ukraine war during live television broadcasts.
However, Carlson noted that no one at the news network explicitly told him what he couldn’t say or discuss on his show. When he requested written guidelines, his bosses refused to provide them.
“I’d always say, write it down for me. Oh, I can’t say that? Send me a text, I’ve got a bad memory. Oh, I can’t be conservative on a conservative TV channel?” Carlson recounted.
Did Fox News Make a Mistake Firing Tucker Carlson?
“Just write that down for me, if you would, just so I can have it as a reference point,” Carlson requested, highlighting the lack of transparency in Fox’s communication.
Despite their disagreements on his Jan. 6 and Ukraine coverage, Carlson clarified that Fox had been “very nice” to him throughout his time there.
Initially surprised by his dismissal in late April, Carlson admitted that upon reflection, he wasn’t surprised at all. “First of all, television is like that. People get fired,” he explained. “There are all kinds of lines that no one will explain explicitly.”
Since the launch of his own news show on X in June, Carlson has interviewed notable figures such as former President Donald Trump and “Daily Wire” host Candace Owens, solidifying his presence in the conservative space.

The revelation of Fox News’ true reaction to Tucker Carlson’s coverage of the Jan. 6 Capitol incursion has sparked a debate on whether the network made a mistake by firing him. Carlson’s claims that the events of that day were a “set-up” and a “lie” have raised eyebrows and divided opinions.
In the podcast interview with Roseanne Barr, Carlson shared that Fox’s leadership ”really didn’t like” his coverage of the Jan. 6 footage. He suggested that the so-called insurrection involved the presence of undercover law enforcement officers in the crowd. This hypothesis, according to Carlson, caused a number of people to quit at Fox News, as they were outraged by his claims.
Furthermore, Carlson expressed his belief that the entirety of the Jan. 6 events were orchestrated and used as a means to imprison those who were exercising their constitutionally protected rights. These assertions have added fuel to the ongoing controversy surrounding the Capitol incursion and the subsequent legal actions taken against those involved.
Although Carlson’s claims may be seen as controversial and speculative, they cannot be easily dismissed. The recent disclosure of over 1,200 arrests related to the events at the Capitol on Jan. 6 raises questions about the extent to which the protests were premeditated and manipulated. The presence of law enforcement officials among the protestors, as suggested by Carlson, adds another layer of complexity to the situation.
It is worth noting that Carlson’s commentary on the Jan. 6 events is not the only topic that led to his departure from Fox News. He also revealed that the network “strongly disagreed” with his questioning of the official narrative surrounding the Russia-Ukraine war during live television broadcasts. This suggests a pattern of disagreement between Carlson and Fox News on crucial issues.
While Carlson acknowledges that he was never explicitly told what he could or couldn’t say on his show, the lack of written guidelines and refusal to provide them by his superiors at Fox News raises concerns about the network’s editorial standards and the extent of freedom given to its hosts.
The firing of Tucker Carlson has undoubtedly raised questions about Fox News’ values and editorial stance. Did the network make a mistake by letting go of a conservative pundit who dared to challenge the official narrative and question the events that unfolded on Jan. 6? Only time will tell what impact these revelations will have on the network’s reputation and viewership.
