However, critics argue that Reiner’s film is nothing more than a thinly veiled attack on Christians and conservatives. They accuse him of using the documentary as a platform to further his own agenda.

One of the film’s “villains” is Scott Smith, the Virginia father who was arrested for speaking out against the mishandling of his daughter’s sexual assault case at a school board meeting. Students For Life President Kristan Hawkins criticized the film for portraying Smith as the antagonist.

Many critics also pointed out the irony of Reiner, an avowed atheist, seeking out Christians to interview for his documentary. They believe it is a clear attempt to discredit and undermine the faith of believers.
