Kentucky Man Charged With Kidnapping After Missing Teen Was Found Hidden Behind Trap Door

A Kentucky man faces over 30 charges after a shocking discovery was made in his house. A teenage girl who had been missing for weeks was found hidden behind a trap door.
According to reports, a 16-year-old girl from North Carolina was discovered in the home of 34-year-old Zackary Jones in Kings Mountain, Kentucky.
After receiving a report of domestic abuse from his mother, the police were called to Jones’s home where they rescued the 16-year-old girl.
According to an arrest citation, the girl was found inside a hidden trap door in a bedroom, concealed under a rug. She had been reported missing on December 6th.
She told the police that Jones had been sexually abusing her, choking her, and subjecting her to other forms of abuse. Officers described her as being in an extremely “high” state.
The charges against Jones include rape, unlawful imprisonment, resisting arrest, and engaging in illegal sexual activity with a minor.
Reports indicate that Jones pretended to be a 19-year-old to establish contact with the unidentified teenager online.
They eventually met in North Carolina, where he revealed his true age of 34. Jones allegedly coerced her into lying about her age and made threats of violence towards her.
It is unclear whether Jones’s family members were aware of the girl’s real age or that she was being held against her will.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received a call from Jones’s mother regarding a fight between her son and his “girlfriend.”
When the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office arrived on Christmas Day, Jones was the only person inside the house.
Sheriff Shawn Hines stated that Jones initially claimed the girl had fled the scene.
“After conducting an investigation, they discovered that she was still there, hidden in a room accessed through a trap door covered by a rug. That’s where they found the girl,” Hines said.
Jones allegedly confessed to engaging in sexual acts with the teenager multiple times and providing her with crack cocaine. However, he denied choking her, despite visible marks on her neck.
The teenager has been reunited with her family, and her identity is being kept private.
