Liberal Bias in New York Times Coverage of Israel
Once upon a time, liberal journalists accused the New York Times of being too friendly towards Israel. But those days are long gone.
Ever since Hamas launched an attack on Israel, the Times has been consistently publishing false and demeaning stories about the Jewish state. Instead of focusing on the innocent lives lost and the hostages taken, the newspaper has chosen to humanize the terrorists and blame Israel for the conflict.
The article titled ”Gaza Has Suffered Under 16-Year Blockade” attempted to justify Hamas’s actions by highlighting the Israeli blockade and the difficult living conditions in Gaza. The Times even relied on Hamas as a primary source for their reporting.
The Palestinian territory of Gaza has been under a suffocating Israeli blockade, backed by Egypt, since Hamas seized control of the coastal strip in 2007. The blockade restricts the import of goods, including electronic and computer equipment, that could be used to make weapons and prevents most people from leaving the territory.
More than two million Palestinians live in Gaza. The tiny, crowded coastal enclave has a nearly 50 percent unemployment rate, and Gaza’s living conditions, health system, and infrastructure have all deteriorated under the blockade.
Instead of highlighting the truth, the Times chose to feature images of Hamas fighters and their attacks on Israel on their front pages. They even rushed to blame Israel for a hospital explosion, relying on Hamas as their primary source.

Even after admitting their mistake, the Times continued to blame Israel for various incidents, ignoring evidence that Hamas used hospitals as military bases.
The Times’s finding does not answer what actually did cause the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital blast, or who is responsible. The contention by Israeli and American intelligence agencies that a failed Palestinian rocket launch is to blame remains plausible. But the Times analysis does cast doubt on one of the most publicized pieces of evidence that Israeli officials have used to make their case and complicates the straightforward narrative they have put forth.
Furthermore, the Times sympathized with Hamas terrorists when Israel agreed to swap prisoners for innocent hostages. They even profiled a woman who was disfigured in an attempted suicide bombing, conveniently leaving out that crucial detail.

And if that wasn’t enough, the Times has a disturbing tendency to hire individuals who promote anti-Semitism, including a freelancer who openly praised Hitler.

Even in the face of evidence and criticism, the New York Times continues to blame Israel and sympathize with Hamas. It’s a biased approach that undermines their credibility and perpetuates a distorted narrative.
