Representative Lauren Boebert Cleared of Domestic Violence Allegations
United States Representative Lauren Boebert has been cleared of allegations of domestic violence following her ex-husband’s arrest.
Police announced on Wednesday that Boebert (R-Colo.) has been cleared of all allegations made by her ex-husband, Jayson Boebert, during an altercation at a restaurant on Saturday.
According to police reports, Jayson initially accused Lauren of punching him in the face but later retracted his statement.
Furthermore, there is no surveillance footage from the restaurant, and no witnesses have come forward regarding the incident.
“Due to a lack of any evidence, the allegations of domestic violence against Rep. Lauren Boebert are unfounded and the investigation into Rep. Lauren Boebert is closed,” police stated.
In addition to other charges being investigated by county authorities, Jayson was taken into custody on Tuesday for third-degree criminal trespass, obstruction, and disorderly conduct related to the restaurant incident. However, records show that he was released the same day.
While the details of what happened at the Miner’s Claim restaurant remain unknown, Lauren’s campaign released a statement on Sunday denying the allegations and stating that no one was arrested.
“I will be consulting with my lawyer about the false claims he made against me and evaluate all of my legal options,” she continued.
Jayson expressed that he did not wish to press charges.
“I don’t want anything to happen,” Jayson Boebert said. “Her and I were working through a difficult conversation.”
Following an incident of disruptive behavior in September, Lauren was escorted out of a Denver theater during a performance of the musical Beetlejuice.
She apologized for her actions, attributing them to her “difficult divorce.”
