Mayorkas acknowledges majority of migrants released in U.S.: Report
Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas Admits Over 85% of Migrants Released into the United States
During a private meeting, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas revealed that more than 85% of migrants encountered at the border are being released into the United States, according to three individuals present at the meeting.
Under the leadership of President Joe Biden and Mayorkas, there has been a significant increase in the number of illegal immigrants apprehended or crossing over the U.S. southern border with Mexico. This surge has not only overwhelmed border cities but has also affected areas across the nation, including “sanctuary cities” like New York City.
BREAKING: Per three Border Patrol sources who were in the room, while meeting privately with agents in Eagle Pass, TX today, DHS Sec. Mayorkas admitted that the current release rate for migrants caught crossing the border illegally is “above 85%”.

The National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) Union confirmed the claim, with Brandon Judd, president of NBPC, present in the room during the conversation. The NBPC X account stated, “Your sources are correct. During this meeting, Brandon Judd told Mayorkas that Americans have the right to know the facts about what’s going on at the border. It was at that point Mayorkas admitted that ‘over 85%’ of the people illegally crossing our border are being released.”

Mayorkas reportedly made this admission when questioned by U.S. Border Patrol agents in Eagle Pass, Texas, regarding the release rate of migrants into the country. Although the secretary recently acknowledged to Fox News that the rate could be higher than 70%, agents argued that the estimate was too low and insisted that the public deserves the truth. Sources claim that Mayorkas eventually admitted it was “over 85%.”
According to the Department of Homeland Security, there has been a record-breaking number of encounters in 2022, and there have been more fentanyl-related crimes in the past two years than in the previous five years combined. Republicans have also alleged that the number of individuals on the terrorist watch-list found among illegal immigrants has increased by approximately 2,500% under Mayorkas.
The secretary is currently facing an impeachment effort by Congressional Republicans who argue that he is not enforcing federal immigration law, thereby violating his oath to uphold the Constitution. They claim that Mayorkas has intentionally made policy decisions that have led to this situation and has repeatedly lied about the border to Congress and the American people.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R) stated, “I believe Secretary Mayorkas is an abject failure, but it’s not because of incompetence. I believe he has done this intentionally. These are intentional policy decisions that he’s made – I think there must be accountability for that.”

How do critics argue that the release of such a high percentage of migrants will impact illegal immigration and strain border cities and communities?
Ntly facing intense scrutiny and criticism from Republicans, who argue that the lax immigration policies of the Biden administration are exacerbating the border crisis and compromising national security. In response to these allegations, Mayorkas has defended the administration’s approach, emphasizing the importance of treating migrants with dignity and respect.
However, the revelation that over 85% of migrants encountered at the border are being released into the United States raises concerns about the effectiveness of current immigration policies. Critics argue that this policy will only incentivize more illegal immigration and create further strain on border cities and communities.
The issue of immigration has long been a contentious one in American politics, and the Biden administration’s approach has sparked intense debate. Supporters argue that a more compassionate and humane approach is necessary, especially considering the dire situations faced by many individuals fleeing violence, poverty, and persecution in their home countries.
However, opponents argue that such policies undermine the rule of law and fail to address the underlying problems leading to illegal immigration. They point to the need for stronger border security measures, improved immigration processes, and greater cooperation with countries of origin to address the root causes of migration.
The revelation regarding the release of over 85% of migrants into the United States adds fuel to this ongoing debate. It highlights the challenges faced by border patrol agents and raises concerns about the potential consequences of the Biden administration’s immigration policies.
As the situation at the border continues to unfold, it is clear that addressing the issue of immigration requires a comprehensive and multifaceted approach. Finding a balance between compassion and security, and identifying effective solutions to the root causes of migration, will be crucial in charting a way forward.
