Defending‍ Global Prosperity: The‌ Urgent⁣ Need to Sink the Houthi Fleet

When Hamas brutally attacked Israel, anti-Semitic individuals in our own country shamelessly‌ celebrated the terrorists on social media,⁣ downplaying the horrific ‍violence as ‌mere “decolonization.” It’s time to address these TikTok-loving, fast-food-eating, fast-fashion-wearing terrorists-in-training⁢ who have been causing chaos⁣ on American roads, ⁤bridges, and airports for months ⁤in ⁤protest of our support for Israel’s counteroffensive. They‍ need to understand that the‌ might of the American military goes beyond aiding our allies.⁣ Did ⁢they⁤ think global ⁤prosperity, free trade, and two-day shipping for ⁢the latest social media trends were just ‌about vibes, papers, and⁢ essays?

The United States‌ has a clear strategic interest in supporting Israel, not only to assist our only diplomatic ally⁣ in the Middle East but also to deter aggression worldwide, including potential Chinese invasion of Taiwan. However, it is crucial ⁤for America and its allies to emphasize this point to the broader Middle East, particularly the regions that ⁢play a ⁤vital role in global shipping. These areas are⁢ increasingly under the control of the medieval pirates ⁣known as the Hamas- and Iran-allied Houthis in Yemen. That’s why the U.S.-led alliance, consisting of countries like the United ‍Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and ⁣others, is named “Operation Prosperity Guardian” and not ‍”Operation Democracy ⁣Guardian.”

Since the Hamas attacks on Israel,‍ the Iranian-funded Houthis ‌have⁢ been launching missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles at both southern Israel and international shipping. They have already attacked commercial shipping‌ lanes 26 times, but Operation Prosperity ⁤Guardian has successfully intercepted their ⁤ballistic missiles.

However, the West has ‍yet to take decisive action against the Houthi ships,⁣ and this‍ lack of response is becoming an increasing threat to global⁣ prosperity. The economic losses caused by Western weakness in the face of Houthi aggression could ⁤reach tens of billions of dollars, considering that 15% of seaborne trade and 30% of global⁤ container ship volume pass ‌through the Red Sea and the Suez Canal. Already, container shipping prices between‌ Asia and Europe⁤ have⁤ tripled, and the Drewry’s World Container Index has seen a shocking ⁢61% increase since the beginning⁤ of⁢ the year. The geography of⁤ Houthi attacks‍ on ships in the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, ⁣between Yemen ⁣and Africa, clearly demonstrates the potential impact.

Let’s take the route between Rotterdam and Singapore as an ⁤example. While⁢ using the Suez Canal takes 26 days‌ and‍ covers 8,500 nautical miles, circumventing ⁣the Red ⁤Sea and sailing around the Cape of Good Hope takes 36 days and nearly‍ 12,000 nautical miles, ‌resulting in⁣ an additional $1 million in fuel costs, according to the ⁣Council on Foreign Relations.

Sinking the Houthi fleet is not just about standing with Israel; it is the only way to restore the global supply chain that has been the backbone of the post-World War II world ⁢order. Failure to act could ⁢lead ‌to‍ inflation similar to what occurred during Russia’s war on Ukraine.

Let’s not forget that the entire global ⁣trade ‌infrastructure was established after World War⁢ II through the Bretton Woods Agreement in⁣ 1944. This agreement laid the⁢ foundation for institutions like the International Monetary Fund, International Trade Organization, and World⁤ Bank, and it was enforced by⁤ the military might of the⁣ victorious nations, particularly the United⁣ States.

While the West can exert soft power⁢ by excluding our enemies ⁣from⁤ favorable trade deals and resort to ⁣sanctions⁢ or tariffs ‍if necessary, the ultimate defense is military force to ensure the uninterrupted flow of global trade.

What⁣ are the potential economic ⁤consequences ⁢of allowing the ‍Houthi fleet to continue their aggressive actions and disruption to global shipping?

Uthis. Despite their continuous acts of aggression and disruption to global ⁣shipping, there has been a lack of international support to address this urgent issue. It⁢ is imperative⁤ that ‌the global community acknowledges the⁢ significant threat posed by the Houthi ⁢fleet and ⁢takes swift action to neutralize this threat‍ in order to protect global prosperity.

The control of strategic ⁣shipping routes by the Houthi pirates not only poses a ⁢direct‌ threat to international trade but also undermines‍ the stability and security of the ‍entire‌ global economy. These pirates have demonstrated a⁤ complete disregard for ‍international law ‌and⁤ norms, constantly ⁣targeting commercial ships and disrupting the flow of⁣ goods. Their actions not only result in significant economic losses but also disrupt the lives of ordinary people‌ who rely on these ‍goods for their everyday ⁤needs.

Moreover, ⁤allowing the Houthi fleet to continue ⁣its aggression unchecked sends a dangerous message to other rogue actors around the world. It signals that acts of⁤ piracy and aggression can go unpunished,⁣ emboldening⁢ other groups to follow suit. This poses a tremendous risk ‍to global security and stability,⁣ as it opens the door for similar maritime disruptions and territorial disputes.

The international community must come together to sink the‍ Houthi fleet and put an end‍ to their ‌reign of terror on the seas. This⁢ requires a coordinated effort involving ‍naval forces from multiple nations, led by the United States and its allies. By actively targeting and neutralizing the Houthi fleet, these nations⁢ can ensure the safety of international shipping lanes‍ and send a clear message‍ that acts of piracy and‌ aggression will not be tolerated.

Furthermore, sinking the Houthi fleet will not only‍ protect ‌global prosperity but also ⁣serve as a ⁢deterrent against future acts of aggression by other rogue⁢ actors. It will ⁤demonstrate the unwavering commitment of the international community to uphold the rule of law and protect the interests ⁢of⁤ all nations involved in international trade.

In addition to military action, ‍diplomatic efforts‍ must also be‍ intensified to address the‍ root causes of the⁣ Houthi aggression. Countries like Iran that provide support to ⁣the Houthis must be held accountable for their actions ⁤and face international sanctions. Moreover, efforts must be made ⁤to engage with the civilian population in‍ Yemen and provide them with the necessary support to rebuild their lives and contribute to regional‍ stability.

Defending global prosperity requires a ⁤united front ‌against ⁢those who seek to⁢ disrupt the international order. The Houthi fleet represents ‍a clear and ‌present ⁣danger to global shipping and must be neutralized. The international community cannot afford to ignore this threat any longer. The time to act is now, for ‌the sake of⁣ our economies, our‌ security, and our commitment to a‌ rules-based international order. ⁣Sink⁢ the Houthi fleet and defend‌ global prosperity.
