A shooting at an alleged speakeasy in Philadelphia has left two people dead and four injured.
On Sunday, tragedy struck as gunfire erupted at a house in north Philadelphia, believed to be an illegal speakeasy. Two lives were lost, and four others were left wounded, according to authorities.
Captain Christopher Bradshaw reported that police responded to the incident in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood shortly before 1 AM on Sunday.
One victim, a 53-year-old man, succumbed to a fatal gunshot wound to the head at the scene.
Another victim, a 42-year-old man, was shot in the chest and thigh and later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
A third victim, a 42-year-old man, sustained a gunshot wound to the hand but is in stable condition after being transported to a hospital.
Additionally, three more individuals arrived at nearby hospitals in private vehicles, all with injuries believed to be related to the same incident. These victims include a 22-year-old woman shot in the leg, a 28-year-old man shot three times in the leg and hip, and a 33-year-old woman shot twice in the arm. Thankfully, all are in stable condition.
According to the police, at least ten shots were fired. It appears that one or more individuals opened fire from the street, targeting the front door and a window of the building.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the motive behind the shooting remains unknown.
