One Inmate Apprehended After Escape from Arkansas County Jail
In an exciting turn of events, one of the inmates who recently escaped from an Arkansas county jail has been captured, leaving just one inmate still on the run.
Noah Roush, a 22-year-old fugitive, was successfully apprehended on Thursday afternoon thanks to a 911 call received by the Metropolitan Emergency Association (MECA). The caller reported seeing someone matching Roush’s description inside an abandoned home in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Upon arrival, Captain Yohance Brunson discovered Roush attempting to flee. With the assistance of Captain Brad Vilches and Officer Aaron Torres from the Southeast Arkansas College Department of Public Safety (SEARKDPS), Brunson managed to chase down and apprehend Roush.
“We appreciate the brave citizen who made the decision to get involved and call MECA, as well as the outstanding efforts of our own Captain Brunson, Captain Brad Vilches, and Officer Torres,” expressed the JCSO in a press release. “We are also grateful for the collaboration with the Pine Bluff Police Department Vice and Narcotics, Arkansas State Police, and Arkansas Department of Correction. Their dedication and hard work have made this capture possible.”
Roush and his accomplice, 23-year-old Jatonia Bryant, were reported missing on Monday night from the Dub Brassell Adult Detention Center. The exact time of their escape remains unknown, but it is believed to have occurred within the previous 48 hours. The circumstances surrounding their escape are still unclear.
Bryant, a black male standing at 5’11″ and weighing approximately 145 pounds, was being held on probable cause of capital murder. Authorities are actively searching for him.
Roush, on the other hand, was being held for residential burglary and theft of property. Additionally, he is a suspect in a homicide case.
“While we are relieved to have Roush in custody, we remain vigilant in capturing Jatonia Bryant, who is still at large,” emphasized the JCSO.
