A letter issued by House Judiciary ⁤Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) accuses the controversial DA of failing to comply with earlier requests ‍for information regarding the misuse⁣ of federal ‌funds.

The letter from the committee also cites a Free Beacon report⁣ accusing Willis’ aide Michael Cuffe of misusing $488,000 that⁣ was supposed to be utilized for the⁤ creation of a foundation called the ⁢Center of Youth Empowerment and‍ Gang Prevention.

Willis gained attention for charging former ⁢President Donald Trump with attempting to overturn‍ the results of the 2020 presidential election.

However,‍ the DA’s office denies the allegations.

“These false⁣ allegations ⁢are included in baseless litigation filed by a holdover employee from the previous administration who ⁣was terminated for cause,” she said in⁤ a statement obtained by Fox News. “The courts that have ruled found no merit⁢ in these claims. We expect the same result in any pending litigation.”

She added: “Any examination of the records of our grant programs ‌will⁣ find that they ‍are highly effective and conducted in cooperation with the ⁣Department of Justice and in compliance with all Department of⁢ Justice requirements. Our federal grant programs are focused on helping at-risk youth and seeking⁣ justice for sexual assault victims who were too long ignored. Our federal grant-funded⁢ Sexual ‍Assault Kit Initiative has been ‌cited‌ by the⁣ United ⁢States Attorney General as a model⁤ program. We are proud of⁢ our grant ⁤programs and our partnership ⁢with the⁢ Department of Justice that makes Fulton County a safer, ‌more ⁣just place.”

The subpoena⁤ comes after the Judiciary Committee requested the documents three⁣ separate times. The⁢ first request was⁢ made in August 2023, followed by requests in September ⁣2023 and December 2023.

“To date, you have failed to comply voluntarily with any of our requests,” the committee wrote in a letter to Willis.

It added: “The Committee’s oversight⁢ of your office’s‌ use of ⁢federal grant funds⁣ is particularly relevant in ‍light of public whistleblower⁣ allegations that it has misused federal funding.”

Meanwhile,‌ Trump ⁣has pleaded not guilty in the case led by Willis.

The letter issued by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim ‌Jordan (R-Ohio) accuses Willis of negligence in handling federal funds. The committee’s ⁢request for information regarding the ⁤alleged misuse of funds ⁤has gone unanswered, prompting the subpoena.

According to a report by the Free Beacon, Willis’ aide, Michael Cuffe, is accused of‌ misusing $488,000 that was intended for the creation of a foundation called the Center of Youth Empowerment and Gang Prevention. ⁢These allegations have brought attention to Willis’ office, which gained ⁢notoriety for charging former President Donald Trump with attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

However, Willis’ office denies these‌ allegations. In a statement obtained by Fox News, Willis stated, “These false allegations are included in baseless litigation filed by ‌a holdover⁢ employee from the previous administration who was terminated‍ for cause. The courts that have ruled found no merit in these claims. We expect the ⁤same‍ result in any pending litigation.”

Willis highlighted ⁤the effectiveness of their ⁤federal grant‍ programs and their compliance with all‍ Department of⁣ Justice⁣ requirements. She emphasized their focus on⁢ helping at-risk youth and seeking justice for sexual assault victims.
