New border deal favors Ukraine with increased funds, while Americans face influx of impoverished illegal immigrants
In a perfect world, an overwhelming majority of American voters would scoff at the absurd border bill proposed by Senate Democrats (along with a few spineless Republicans) and demand justice. Unfortunately, we don’t live in a perfect world.
The more you delve into the details of the bill, which was recently made public, the more outrageously offensive it becomes. I’m not just referring to the criticisms from Republicans who oppose it. I’m talking about the glowing endorsements from the national media, who are fervently pushing for its passage.
Take a look at this excerpt from Axios on Monday: “The $118 billion package includes $60 billion for Ukraine and $14 billion for Israel. An additional $10 billion is earmarked for humanitarian assistance in Gaza, the West Bank, and Ukraine. The border changes include $20 billion for transportation for deportation, shelters, 4,000+ new asylum officers, more border agents, and anti-fentanyl trafficking efforts.”
In other words, $84 billion would be sent overseas, with the majority going to Joe Biden’s beloved Ukraine, while a portion of that amount would be used to hire more government workers in the United States to process illegal immigrants who will burden American taxpayers.
Where do we sign?!
Meanwhile, Politico praised the bill as a major victory for Republicans, conveniently ignoring the fact that a secure U.S. territory benefits the entire country. However, they did acknowledge a few minor drawbacks. “The border emergency authority that is a centerpiece of the bill, for instance, is not absolute,” they admitted. “Unaccompanied minors and trafficking victims are not included, and immigration officers are empowered to make other exceptions.”
Politico also highlighted the president’s authority to limit border crossings, stating that Biden can suspend it for up to 45 days if it is deemed “in the national interest.” These powers can only be exercised for a limited time, with the entire bill becoming null and void after three years.
In essence, all the new “restrictions” on who can enter the United States are ultimately at the discretion of Joe Biden. This is no different from the current situation. Since taking office, nearly half a million unaccompanied minors have been encountered by border agents. When you factor in “trafficking victims” (i.e., anyone who paid a smuggler to bring them here), we’re right back where we started.
Again, I’m not quoting Republican officials who oppose the bill. These are the words of Axios (which describes this as a “remarkably strict” proposal) and Politico (“Senate Republicans will find it difficult to reject the policy advances in the bill”).
It’s clear that Washington is fixated on sending more money to Ukraine. House Republicans have a simple condition: if we must do that, let’s also address the influx of foreign terrorists and impoverished individuals from Latin America crossing the Rio Grande.
This shouldn’t even be up for negotiation, but the Biden administration and congressional Democrats have chosen to play this hand. However, if the offer is to give Ukraine another $100 billion without ensuring the security of our own Southern border, then why bother sending money at all?
Let’s not.

The Absurd Border Bill: A Closer Look at the Senate Democrats’ Proposal

It is deeply concerning that such a bill is even being considered, let alone receiving support from influential media outlets. It is a clear indication of the state of our country’s immigration policies and the priorities of our lawmakers. The American people deserve better.
We must demand that our elected officials prioritize the interests and safety of American citizens over external affairs. It is time for our government to focus on securing our borders and implementing sensible immigration policies that protect American jobs, national security, and the economic well-being of the American people.
The proposed border bill is a disgrace and a betrayal of the American people. It is imperative that we hold our elected officials accountable and demand better. Our country deserves a comprehensive immigration policy that reflects the values and interests of the American people.
