Biden’s confusion was evident as he continued to mix up names, referring to Angela Merkel, the former chancellor of Germany, as the chancellor of Germany during the incident.
“And I looked at him, and the chancellor of Germany said, ‘What would you say, Mr. President, if you picked up the paper tomorrow in the London Times and the London Times said a thousand people had broken into the House of Commons to ‘stop the election of the prime minister’?” Biden added.
Concerns about Biden’s cognitive health have been raised, with 52% of voters expressing worry about his ability to serve a second term, according to a September poll. This incident adds to the growing skepticism surrounding his mental acuity.
