Failed woke kindergarten. Reality prevails

Reality Always Wins

One of ‌the beauties of life is the simple fact that no matter how stupid things get,⁢ reality always wins.

Whether it’s your⁣ personal life or politics on a broader ⁤scale, the undeniable ‍truth is that eventually, you will come face ‍to face with reality ‍— ‌and reality will prevail.

That doesn’t mean bad political ‌ideas can’t succeed in the short or even mid-term. It simply means that the ⁣realities⁢ of human nature⁣ and‍ the‍ world around us cannot be ignored. And ⁤in the end, ⁣policies based on ignorance will fail spectacularly. The more foolish the policies, the quicker their downfall.

One such foolish idea that has recently taken center ‌stage is the⁣ concept of “woke.”

Woke is a foolish idea. But ⁣what exactly does‍ it mean to be “woke”? Wokeness is the ⁢belief that ‍any disparity in outcomes between different groups in ‌American society is‌ solely⁣ due to discrimination. The ‌proposed solution is reverse discrimination or some form of discrimination that⁢ aims to equalize outcomes.

We have witnessed the implementation of various policies‌ aimed at closing these gaps. However, as the great thinker Thomas Sowell has pointed out, the quest for cosmic justice is a foolish endeavor. It is an unsolvable problem because the majority of group disparities are‌ either innate or influenced by culture and environment — the ⁤only factors at play.

Of course, ⁢not every difference in outcomes can ‌be‍ attributed to⁣ innate factors. Educational and cultural disparities often contribute to intellectual differences between groups. This⁢ is a reality that persists throughout‌ life.

Examining the reasons behind ‍outcome ‌disparities can be a useful approach in crafting effective policies. Unfortunately, we have abandoned this approach in favor of stupidity.⁤ Now, we are ‌indoctrinating our ⁢children with ideas that do not reflect reality, and we are witnessing‌ the consequences.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported on a troubling example:

A Hayward elementary school struggling to ‍boost low test scores and dismal student ⁢attendance is spending $250,000 in federal money for an organization called Woke Kindergarten to train teachers to confront white supremacy, disrupt racism and oppression, ⁤and remove those barriers to ⁢learning.

The ⁢Woke Kindergarten ⁢sessions train teachers on⁣ concepts and curriculum that’s available to use in classrooms with any of Glassbrook Elementary’s 474 students. The sessions are funded ⁣through a federal program meant to help the country’s lowest-performing schools boost ‍student achievement.

The underlying‌ theory behind this program is that by simply teaching children self-esteem and exposing ⁤them ⁣to the perceived injustices of their lives in the freest country in history, they will magically perform better. However, there⁣ is one major problem: reality always wins.

According to the Chronicle,‌ two years ‍into the three-year contract with Woke Kindergarten, ⁣student achievement at Glassbrook Elementary has actually declined.⁤ This‍ has led some teachers to question the effectiveness of the program, especially considering ‍the needs of the predominantly low-income, English-learning, and Hispanic/Latino student population.

This outcome should come as no ⁢surprise because woke kindergarten is a fundamentally flawed idea. Teaching children misguided concepts is more likely to hinder their performance ⁤rather ⁢than enhance ⁣it. ⁣Despite this,⁤ district officials defended the⁢ program, claiming it fulfilled‍ its intended ‍purpose. However, the reality is that ⁣it made things worse.

One of the most astonishing aspects⁢ of the nonprofit world, which ⁢holds true across the board, is⁣ that nonprofits ⁢often ‌exacerbate the very ⁢problems they aim to combat in order to⁢ raise funds to fight those problems.

This phenomenon is all‌ too common in ⁢the nonprofit sector. Politically motivated individuals‍ on the⁣ Left actively perpetuate inequalities to maintain their ‌narrative of inequity. After all,‍ if these ‌inequalities were to genuinely ⁢diminish‍ due to‌ freedom and effective incentive structures, what purpose would they‌ serve?

How can incorporating discussions on ‌white privilege help students understand and challenge inequalities in society?

Such ⁣as “systemic racism,” “white privilege,” and “intersectionality” ⁢as tools to address social justice issues ⁢in the classroom.

This ⁣is a prime example of the consequences of⁤ basing ⁣policies on ignorance rather than reality. Instead of focusing⁤ on ‍improving educational standards and addressing the root‌ causes of low test scores and poor attendance, the school‍ has chosen to allocate ‌a significant amount of‍ money to training teachers in an ⁤ideology⁤ that does not ⁤reflect the true nature⁣ of ‌these issues.

Reality tells us that ⁣student ⁢attendance and academic performance are influenced by a‍ myriad of ‌factors, such as⁤ parental involvement, socio-economic status, and individual ⁤motivation. By ignoring these factors and attributing all disparities to “white supremacy” ⁣and “oppression,” we are ‍not only failing to address the real problems but⁣ also perpetuating a false narrative that can be damaging to⁣ all students.

⁣The consequences of basing policies on ignorance and denying ⁢reality are not limited to education. We see ⁣it in other areas of public discourse as well. From ⁣the denial of biological differences between men and women‍ to the rejection ‌of economic principles, the elevation of ideology over reality has far-reaching effects.

However, as history has shown us time‍ and time again, ⁤reality always wins⁢ in the end. Ignorant policies may have short-term success, ⁤but when the consequences of these policies become evident, reality prevails.

It is imperative that⁣ we base ⁤our policies on a deep understanding of reality. We⁢ must acknowledge the complexities of human⁢ nature, the influence ⁤of culture and environment, and the⁤ inherent differences between individuals and groups. Only then can we craft effective and ⁣sustainable solutions that address the root ⁤causes of problems.

We must reject the allure of‍ ideology and embrace the truth of reality. It is‌ only ⁣through this commitment to truth and ⁣understanding that we can⁤ overcome the challenges we face as individuals, communities, and societies.

Reality may not always provide the answers we want to hear, but it ⁤is only ‌by acknowledging and accepting reality that we can truly progress and thrive.
