Mollie Hemingway highlights flaws in U.S. elections: mail-in ballots, Zuckbucks, and censorship

Private Takeover and Meddling: Threats ⁤to American Self-Governance

Mail-in ballots, the‍ private takeover of elections with “Zuckerbucks,” Big Tech censorship, and‍ Democrat ⁣meddling are⁣ the ‍biggest ways “the American system of self-governance ⁢is under attack,” Federalist Editor-In-Chief and bestselling author‌ Mollie Hemingway warned in her testimony to the House Administration Committee.

“We have allowed the private ⁣takeover of government election offices⁤ by partisan oligarchs and their armies of activists who use those offices and⁣ their authorities to tilt the election toward favored candidates,” she said.

During her opening statement on Wednesday, Hemingway diagnosed the deterioration of U.S. elections and Americans’ ⁢trust in⁣ the voting process as the result of “lengthy ‍election seasons.”

“The situation is so absurd that we have presidential and gubernatorial debates⁤ weeks⁤ after‌ some people have already voted,” Hemingway noted.

Mail-in‍ voting specifically, Hemingway said, forces the crux of voting to begin months before Election Day.

“Instead ‌of having full security‍ and a verifiable chain of custody for‍ ballots being issued, cast, and⁣ counted,‍ we flooded addresses across the country with‌ tens of millions of unsupervised mail-in ballots months ⁢ahead ⁤of elections frequently⁢ to locations‍ from which voters, if they’re even alive, have long ⁤since moved, instead of having election administration that⁢ is ⁢rigorously nonpartisan and ‍impartial under the law,” she explained.

Hemingway said this strategy not ⁤only‍ applied in the 2020 presidential‌ election but is being weaponized by⁢ Democrats in the 2024 cycle to prevent former President Donald ⁣Trump from receiving support at the polls.

“Instead of voters being ⁣able to vote for ‌the candidate of their choice, powerful interests backed ⁤by ⁤wealthy oligarchs are working to remove the most popular⁤ candidate and‌ the⁢ ruling⁢ party’s chief opponent from the ballot in a move‍ reminiscent‍ of⁤ Soviet Russia,” Hemingway said. “And if that weren’t enough, instead of the top ‌candidates being chosen by the people being able to fully engage in a vigorous campaign heading into an election, we have⁢ one side actively attempting to throw its opponent in prison⁢ and bankrupt ‍his family, again, reminiscent of Soviet Russia‌ instead ⁤of ⁢a system of rule of law that gives Americans ‍the same rights⁣ and⁢ due process.”

The Department⁤ of Justice, “other ⁣partisan actors,” and “partisan juries,” Hemingway said, play key roles in the latest election meddling scheme, but they are not alone.

“We ‌have a press that ‍is almost exclusively the arm of one ⁣political party and ‌is so corrupt that it is willing to perpetrate hoax after hoax ⁣against opposition⁣ party members instead of a vibrant⁤ public square where Americans can debate⁣ issues and express their strongly held views,” Hemingway said.

Hemingway ⁢said that, in ⁢addition to the⁤ corrupt corporate media, Big⁣ Tech used its internet power to influence election outcomes.

“We have an elaborate censorship industrial complex, where the government works hand in hand with tech oligarchs to suppress and blacklist debate on ‌all the ‌important issues⁤ that contribute ‍to election ‌outcomes,” she noted. “This is‍ something I know firsthand because our⁣ government worked with ‍tech companies to censor me for⁣ my ⁢election reporting.”

As Hemingway described in her‌ 2021 book “Rigged: How the Media, Big Tech, and the Democrats Seized Our Elections,” “nonprofit ⁤groups with very strong⁣ ties ⁤to the Democrat Party and‍ funded by‌ one of the world’s‌ wealthiest and most powerful men,⁤ Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, took over government election offices, most ⁢notably in the Democrat areas of swing states.”

The introduction⁤ of “Zuckerbucks” to American elections, Hemingway said, was just the beginning of ⁣a widespread and growing campaign “by partisans to further‍ infiltrate government‌ offices to ensure favorable outcomes.”

“Allowing just one‍ of these attacks to infect our electoral system would be ⁤a crisis. Allowing all of them at‌ the same time is an existential threat to our system of⁣ self-government,” Hemingway cautioned.

What are the dangers of allowing Big ⁤Tech companies⁢ to become the arbiters⁣ of truth and censor voices based⁤ on their political ideologies?

Holding them accountable ⁤for their‌ actions,”‍ she added.

Hemingway emphasized⁢ the dangerous power that Big Tech companies have over the American self-governance ⁢process. She pointed⁤ out ‌that these companies, such as Facebook and Twitter,⁣ have⁣ taken it upon ⁤themselves to become the ⁤arbiters of truth and to censor voices that‍ do not align with their own political ideologies.

“The ability of a ⁣small group ⁡of billionaires ⁢in Silicon Valley to control the flow of information ‌and‍ to ⁣manipulate public opinion should deeply concern every American who ⁢values free speech and the ⁢exchange of ideas,” Hemingway stressed.

She⁡ urged‍ Congress and government ‍officials ‍to take⁢ action in order to protect the integrity of the American self-governance system. Hemingway called for transparency in the⁢ election process, strict ⁤nonpartisanship in election administration, and the regulation of Big Tech companies to ensure that they do⁢ not abuse their power.

“We must⁣ restore the trust of ‌the‌ American people in the voting process and ⁢ensure that their ⁤voices are heard and respected,” she asserted.

In conclusion, Hemingway’s testimony highlighted the threats facing American self-governance, including the private takeover of elections, Big Tech censorship, and Democrat meddling. She warned that if these issues are not addressed,⁣ the foundation ⁢of U.S. democracy will continue to erode and the voice of the American people‌ will be silenced.

“Now is the time to act,” ⁤Hemingway urged. ‌”We cannot allow partisan⁤ interests and powerful elites to dictate the future of ⁣our ⁢democracy. It is up to us, the ⁢American people, to⁢ reclaim our self-governance and protect the very principles upon which our nation was founded.”
