“We’re producing‌ a football pregame show, not a ‍political show,” CBS ⁢Sports Chairman Sean McManus said Tuesday.

Additionally, McManus said he just wanted to ⁢talk about the big‌ game when‍ he was asked about Trump.

“I don’t want to get into⁣ the politics,⁣ we’re here to talk about the game,” he said at ⁢a press conference in Las Vegas in the run-up to‌ Sunday’s game.

Additionally, McManus ⁤commented on Biden declining the big‍ offer.

“There’s ⁣nothing more to say about it. We were prepared to do it. And the White House declined the ⁢opportunity,” he stated.

This is the second consecutive year Biden‌ has declined, ⁢having declined a FOX News request last year.

During her briefing, White House Press ⁢Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre brushed off the questions regarding Biden’s Super Bowl decision.

“The viewers who⁢ tune in —⁢ they tune in to⁤ watch the game, ⁣right? They⁢ want ‍to‌ see the game, they want to ⁤see their favorite ‍team, they want⁤ to see ‌a halftime show. It is that ‍type⁤ of tradition, the president ‍will find many other ways to ‌communicate with ⁣Americans… when the ‍time is right,” she said.

Meanwhile, ‍Biden’s ⁤last two television interviews were both alongside⁢ First Lady Jill Biden. They were with Al Roker during the ‍Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and Ryan Seacrest for his New Year’s Eve Program.

⁢How does CBS Sports Chairman Sean McManus feel about political discussions during the football pregame show

Tuned for the highly anticipated Super Bowl LVIII, set to take place this Sunday, February 11th, 2024, between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San⁤ Francisco 49ers. As fans eagerly await⁢ the big game, there has been speculation about which high-profile figures ⁢will make appearances during the pregame coverage. However, CBS Sports recently announced⁣ that former President Donald Trump will ⁢not be doing a Super Bowl pregame interview, despite expressing interest in doing so.

The decision by CBS Sports comes after President Joe Biden also declined the offer to appear before millions of viewers on⁤ TV prior to the game. CBS Sports Chairman ⁤Sean McManus emphasized that the focus should be on⁢ the football pregame‌ show, rather than politics: “We’re producing a football pregame show, not a political show,” he stated during a press conference in Las Vegas.

McManus further reiterated this sentiment when asked about Trump’s potential participation:⁢ “I ‍don’t want to get into the politics,‌ we’re here to talk ‍about the game,” he said. He also mentioned that the White House declined the opportunity for Biden to appear.

This is not the‍ first time President Biden has declined a Super Bowl interview request. Last‌ year, he also turned‍ down a request from FOX News. The White House Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, defended Biden’s decision, noting that most viewers ⁤tune in to ⁢watch the game itself, not political discussions: “The viewers who tune in—they tune in to watch the game, right? They want to see the⁢ game, they want to see their favorite team, they want to see a halftime show.” She added that the ‌President will find other ways to communicate with Americans⁣ when the time is right.

In recent television interviews, President Biden has appeared alongside ‍First Lady Jill Biden.‍ These interviews included the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with Al Roker and the New Year’s Eve Program with Ryan Seacrest.

As the Super Bowl approaches,⁣ football fans around the world can look forward⁢ to a thrilling match between the‍ San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs.
