New ad confirms McConnell’s border deal favored Dems greatly

The DSCC Blasts Republicans for Failing to Legalize Amnesty in ⁣Border Deal

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) ‌has released a new ad this week criticizing Republicans ⁣for their failure⁤ to legalize amnesty in last week’s ‍”border deal.” Thanks to GOP Senate chief Mitch McConnell, ⁢Republican candidates in tight races are now facing the⁣ consequences.

In the ad,⁤ the DSCC compiled clips of ⁤left-wing pundits mocking Republican senators who ultimately opposed a compromise border bill. Unfortunately for them, the legislation failed to pass a procedural hurdle ‌for a vote on the Senate floor.

The $118 billion package ‌included⁤ funding for the border, as well as wartime aid to⁢ Israel⁣ and Ukraine. The bill even ‍legalized 5,000 ‍crossings ⁣per day and expanded asylum for‌ all. Democrats who wrote the bill admitted that under its provisions, “the border⁤ never closes.”

An utter disaster. Here’s a thread of the Dems bragging about what‍ an open-borders victory this ⁢bill would be. As Murphy puts it “The Border‍ NEVER closes!”

Conservative lawmakers, under⁢ the leadership ‌of Mitch McConnell, rejected the bill ‍negotiated by Oklahoma Sen. James Lankford. This debacle has given Democrats the ‌ammunition they need to criticize Republicans as apathetic towards one of the‌ top issues for voters in the upcoming fall elections.

“Now they had the opportunity to get a ‌bill, a bipartisan bill, passed into ⁣law that would really do something about‌ the crisis at‍ the border,” says Democratic strategist Symone Sanders, who is featured in the ad.

NEW — We ‌just launched an ad slamming GOP Senate‌ candidates, including ⁤Ted Cruz and Rick ‌Scott, for opposing the‌ bipartisan bill to secure the border and keep Americans safe for the sake ⁤of their own petty, self-serving ⁢politics. Take a look: pic.twitter.com/FtZo7ItAct

If McConnell and the rest of GOP leadership had ⁤negotiated ⁢a legitimate border bill with‍ substantive security measures, this ad would not⁢ exist. However, if Democrats⁢ had shown even a hint of‍ desire for a ‍secure border, the White House might have taken a different approach instead of aggressively‌ reversing every effective program implemented under President Donald Trump.

On Tuesday, House ⁣Republicans impeached Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro ‍Mayorkas for neglecting the administration’s constitutional obligation⁢ to enforce U.S. border laws. Mayorkas was impeached for “Willful and Systemic ‌Refusal to Comply With the Law” and “Breach of the Public Trust.”

According ⁢to Customs and Border ‍Protection (CBP), January border crossings nearly reached record apprehensions, following record ⁣numbers in December. Since Biden took office, over ⁢10 million illegal immigrants have crossed the border. The House Judiciary reports that ⁣1.7 million “known gotaways” have evaded border agents through early October.

Following the defeat of⁣ the ⁣amnesty bill, ⁤lawmakers in the Senate proposed a $95 billion foreign spending package, which Republican senators are urging the House to vote on. This bill would allocate⁢ $14 billion to Israel, $10 billion to “humanitarian” efforts abroad, and a staggering $60 billion to Ukraine. If passed,⁢ the ‌total U.S.‌ taxpayer payout for the proxy ‌war⁤ in Ukraine would exceed $170 billion, ‌according to The New York Times.

How does the ad released by the ⁤DSCC criticize Republican Senate candidates for their stance on the bipartisan bill, and ⁤what‌ is the ⁣Democratic narrative surrounding ‌this issue

Icans⁣ attempted to pass a motion to recommit, demanding that the border bill include language to prohibit amnesty. However, their efforts were unsuccessful, further highlighting the‌ rift within the Republican party on this issue.

The failure to legalize amnesty ‌in the border⁤ deal has significant implications for Republican candidates in tight races. As the⁢ DSCC ad points out, this failure can be seen as⁢ a reflection of Republican candidates’ apathy towards addressing the crisis at ⁤the border, ⁣which is a top concern for voters. With the upcoming fall elections, this is ammunition that Democrats can use to criticize their Republican opponents and gain the support of voters who prioritize border security.

It is important to note that the border deal that Republicans opposed had provisions that would have had ⁣far-reaching consequences. Not only‌ did it include funding for border security, but it also legalized an unprecedented number of daily crossings and expanded asylum for ⁣all. As Sen. Ted Cruz⁣ highlighted in ⁢his tweet,⁣ Democrats were proclaiming‌ this as an open borders victory. The⁣ Republican rejection of the bill can be⁤ seen as an attempt to prevent the⁤ implementation of ⁤such policies that they believe would undermine national security and sovereignty.

The ad released by the ⁢DSCC features Democratic strategist Symone Sanders, who criticizes Republicans for missing the opportunity to pass a bipartisan bill that would address the crisis at the border. This highlights the Democratic narrative that portrays Republicans as more interested in politics than in finding a solution to the problem. The ad‌ specifically targets GOP Senate candidates, including Ted Cruz and‌ Rick Scott, accusing them of opposing the bipartisan bill for their own self-serving political motives.

If Republican leadership, led by Mitch McConnell, had negotiated a⁢ border bill that included substantive security⁤ measures, this ad would not exist. The failure to do so has given Democrats the upper hand in framing the issue⁢ and‍ criticizing Republicans for their lack of ⁣action.

It is⁤ worth noting that ‌Democrats themselves have ⁣not shown a strong desire for a secure border. In fact, the⁣ White House, under Democratic leadership, has been aggressively reversing many of the effective programs implemented under President Donald⁢ Trump. ⁢This raises questions about the sincerity of their commitment to border security and whether their proposed solutions would truly address the crisis.

In conclusion, ‌the failure to legalize‍ amnesty in the border deal has become a point of criticism for Republicans, particularly those⁤ in tight races. Democrats, seizing the opportunity, have released an⁢ ad highlighting this failure and accusing Republicans of being apathetic towards the border crisis. The rift within the Republican party on this issue further complicates matters. As the fall elections approach, the debate over border security will continue to be a central⁤ point of contention between the two parties.
