Kemp advises voters to stay focused, Trump case in Georgia unlikely to go to trial before the election
Georgia GOP Governor Urges Republican Voters to Stay Focused on the Presidential Race
In a recent interview with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on “The Source,” Georgia GOP Governor Brian Kemp emphasized the importance of Republican voters staying focused on the upcoming presidential race and not getting distracted by the criminal prosecution of former President Donald Trump by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.
“I would just tell you that six months, eight months ago, I never thought this case would go to trial before the election,” Kemp stated. “And I think most people think that’s the case now.”
Kemp believes that voters should not let this case divert their attention and instead concentrate on the current situation leading up to November. He also mentioned that Judge McAfee, who was appointed due to his strong constitutionalist views, will make a ruling in due course.
Furthermore, Kemp revealed that the state is working on refining legislation that would enable them to oversee district attorneys who are not adhering to the law.
“Republicans should focus on selling the American people their vision for the country and what they stand for,” Kemp emphasized. “We should not solely be defined by what we are against. Losing elections can have serious consequences.”
Kemp highlighted the impact of losing the 2020 election, using the example of the border crisis. He believes that winning elections is crucial to being in a position to govern effectively and implement policies that align with their vision for the country.
“It’s imperative that you win to be able to get into positions, like I’m in, where you can actually govern,” Kemp explained. “During my re-election campaign, we focused on our accomplishments, such as revitalizing the economy post-COVID, standing firm against pressure to shut down, keeping our kids in school, supporting law enforcement, and addressing criminal activity.”
Kemp urged voters to remain steadfast and not be swayed by distractions during the presidential election.
